Why'd you assume he was talking about tail lights specifically.

I asked the dealer about the weight and he said the Z51 with all the options on the car weighs 3460 LBS.
Car and Driver Nov 2013 says the Z51 withauto and all the options weigh 3460 lbs also. Maybe the base C7with manual weighs 3298.

I got to see three c7's at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green this past Sunday. I believe they were waiting for their new owners to pick them up.

I didn't see any resemblance to a Camaro, from any angle.

I think the new Camaro, Challenger, and Mustang are all cartoon caricatures of the originals. I think the Challenger weighs about 1000 lbs more than its namesake. They all look huge and ridiculous.

Not so with the C7. It looks so much smaller and more compact than my C5.

It does not have the long, flowing lines of a C5, but I think it went in the right direction: shorter, more compact and purposeful. At least that is how it looks in person.

Not exactly side by side, but its as close as I could get. I still like the shape of a C5 better.

The C7 looks too cartoonish, busy and angular like a Caddy, I like the clean, simple rounded
shape of the C5Z., classic simplicity.

Considering we haven't had a Corvette with swoops and swirls since the C3, I think the C5 will attract an audience long after the juts and jaws of today's C7 have worn out its welcome.

But angular is in. I first started noticing (and disliking) angular when Acura introduced their new line several years ago.

Guess we have to wait to see what GM has in store for the C8.

Totally agree. When Acura released the new TL I couldn't tell the front from the back other than the exhaust.

Car design vacillates between smooth lines and angles. It's just a cycle that repeats....sort of like wallpaper and painted walls. Once everyone has a style that has become commonplace and everyone is use to it, the market starts to shift towards the alternative, making your stuff look so out of date, it pushes you to buy new.

Smooth rounded lines will come around again. Remember when the Ford Taurus jellybean look took the world by storm? That started the "round revolution" when most 70s cars had the hard lines and angles.

I do remember that. I recall that I thought the Taurus was kind of silly looking. Now here I am decades later trying to hang onto the C5's curves.

I just saw my first one on the road. Guy was in a white one with black trim 2 cars ahead of me at a light. got up next to him at the red light and chatted for a few. I didn't think much of the pics, and I hate white cars, but man that thing was pretty "in the flesh"....he said he's worried about his passenger window breaking because he keeps rolling it down to shoot the breeze with other corvette owners at traffic lights.

the coolest part was the oncoming traffic across the light had 2 other vettes sitting side by side...c3/c6 and we were the c5/c7...everyone was pointing at each other...

I have a Pontiac... doesn't look like mine at all...

I am not hating on it because I do not nor intend to ever have one of my own. But, biased as it may be, the C5 is in my opinion is the most sexiest, sleekest, voluptuous of all the Corvettes since the C3's went out of production. C6 is nice but without the folding headlights, it reminds me of the square headlights of the Jeep in the nineties. They went back to being round because that was one of the main eye candy Jeeps were known for. And a Corvette should have folding head lights for the same reason.
