When I bought my car the first thing I did was changed out the Wagon Wheels. They are atrocious. Mine are still sitting on my porch. Can't sell them even with brand new tires on them.

My car come new with WW and at the time their was not a lot to pick from. They drove me crazy. I could not wait to get them off. bought a set of high polish aluminum five star that I had for 10 years that become to much work, sold them bought chrome easy to keep shiny.

They actually look really good on a lot of cars. They just don't match the styling of the vette though. Black/dark grey isn't half bad though.

A lot of people put them on Blazers and S10's, and they look pretty good.

Apparently nobody wants to steal them even with the incentive of having new tires ! Funny though, you don't see many people wanting to give them away even though they don't put any value on them.

My experience was just the opposite. I tried to sell a mint set of them without tires for about $150 without even a call. No interest whatsoever. I put a old junk set of runflats on them and advertised them for $400. The sold the first day without any haggling on price.

I think RetiredSFC 97 and I have the same car!
I like the Wagon Wheels with or without the stickers!
First time I saw a C5 in person in 1997, I knew I had to have one!

Agreed, they do look better on Pewter cars than on most other colors.

Wagon wheels are certainly not the most sophisticated wheels out there, but are fine for the OEM look IMO.

That said, when I finally decided to go with the GS theme on my '97, I bought a set of Speedline Z06 wheels to complete the package. Car just needed an upgrade from WW to make the GS theme work.

I will say this - the WW is a whole lot better built than many of the aftermarket pieces out there that, while they may look nice, don't have nearly the engineering or quality control of the OEM wheels.

Has anyone tried removing the paint on them and polishing them. I think that might make them look better.

To each his own. I personally think chrome doesn't belong on any wheel. Looks cheap and tacky.
