Little update to this thread. This is a video of what I went through with the installation of my coilover shocks I got from Viking. Really happy with them at the moment but still need to drive it more to see how the car likes them. It is quite longer then I ever thought it would be but I had a few issues I had to work out....but doesn't that happen with most things!!!! Thought I'd just document that too.
That looks awesome. This New Englander is DEFINITELY jealous of the car-friendly weather you enjoy out west! I get under my daily coupe and even the RideTechs which are just 5 years old are corroded to heck and back anywhere they are not aluminum.
Glad you finally got everything worked out Mark. Those coilovers are a bit different than my LG GT2’s, but once you get them set, you shouldn’t have to mess with them again.
Thanks for all the pats on the back, y'all....I was pretty much at my wits end on this one. Not so much with the coilovers themselves but the removal of the stock stuff, especially the front spring, it gave me fits like no other. Not sure why as I've changed it before without issues....oh well, all done now and so far so good.

I have not just yet. I do have it narrowed down to 3 or 4 but nothing definite yet. The more I look at the car now, the more I'm really liking what I have. What's really making me decide on a different set is the dang rivets. If they weren't there I'd be 100% happy with them. I'm giving myself a couple months to cool off with everything before I decide so it will be a bit before let you all know. Taking it into my body shop in a week or 2 to have some rock chips taken care of on the rockers and front fenders so we'll see how that goes and how much it will cost me.
That’s cool seeing how much movement there is in all of the the suspension parts. I’d like to have had that camera mounted to my suspension today while running at Talledega!
Little update to this thread. Not so much what I did with it, but what I had made from it. Had Monaco Auto Design do a rendering of it for me. Think it turned out fantastic. I wanted an old dilapidated barn because I grew up around farms and I love the look of the old barns. Plus, it's a look that could possibly be in his future soon too. Hopefully I'll have Grape back in my hands and garage this next week and get him all back together again.
Hi Mike. If you're asking what size it is, it can be printed up to a 24x36 poster I believe without much distortion. We need to get lunch again soon. I'll be in touch.
Hey Mark, the rendering looks nice. You fooled me a little bit though. When I saw you had a new post in this thread, I though you had gotten Grape Ape back from the shop. The rendering is great, but I'm a bit disappointed because I though we were going to get to see the real thing.

Beautiful work! Would you mind sharing how much that cost? I think I remember seeing a post from Monaco - so if you prefer not to share cost, I can try that route.

I'm very sorry to disappoint....I really wish it was a done deal video I can share. Crossing my fingers I'll have him back home this week.

He had a discount thread for $80. Not to cheap but he does great work. I'll be getting a poster size for my new garage when I get it.
Congrats mstromquist
Thanks for posting this thread.
It’s uplifting to know others still make the effort to do something you go all out for and it doesn’t work perfectly the first time and have enough moral character to follow it thru and let others follow along
Keep up the good work
