So basically in effect, you just supercharged the grandkids C5.R!
What an awesome grandfather you are!
You do know, if you had a gorilla mask……..
Yeah, I'm sure I won't be able to stop with just 18 volts. It is a sickness as you say. No real Grape so this will have to do for now. No gorilla mask but that's an idea for when I get it out for the neighbors to watch....😃 😆

That's so cool! This is how we create the next generation of corvette enthusiasts. It's a good starter since by the time your grandkids are old enough to drive a real car, they'll all be electric anyway. Now you need to dress up like Grape Ape, and take that thing for a spin around the neighborhood.
could not have said it better, one of the reasons I sold my C5, always afraid of something happening to it bought a 2013 Z06 that's not perfect but something I feel I can drive the wheels off !! (I love the Grape Ape)
IIRC, it looks like Magilla Gorilla!! Anybody remember him??
Appreciate the compliments y'all. I couldn't stop with the way it is though. I took the wheel covers & tail pipes off to have them sprayed a more shiny silvery chrome look. I also took the light lenses off, front & back, to have them tinted as well. I need my real car back and soon.....
I hope your grandkids appreciate all the work that you put into this. Maybe when they're a little older, you can work on real cars with them. Now that you're retired, you're going to have the time to all kinds of things.
Coming soon...Grape Ape mid-engine conversion
I sure hope they do too. If not I'll have a cool car to drive around my new to me garage when I can get it built. In the mean time, I finally got the real Grape home today again. Super happy to have it back and I'll be going over it with my fine toothed whatever I can find to make sure it's to my liking. I'm sure it is and hopefully won't have to clean to much.
Mark, glad you finally got the car back and safely home in the garage. Hopefully the paint shop took pride in their work and everything is to your liking. It sure looks good in the pics.
Also, congrats on your retirement!!!
Now, every day is a Saturday buddy!
Thanks, Larry. The job situation is finalized now too. As of yesterday I turned everything back into SWA yesterday. Now everyday is a Saturday like you said. So happy to be in this position now. I'm sleeping a lot better now too. No more night shifts. I'll for sure keep you all posted on what I find with the car in the next few days. Gonna put the things I took off back on again.
I finally finished up the video of Grape getting a new coat on him. He's not completely done yet but this video needs to be done. I currently have the car back at the body shop finishing up some things I wasn't completely happy with. I feel like I'm being to picky with it, they even said I wasn't, but I'm trying to get him as perfect as I can. The rear spoiler is still causing me problems but that's being worked on also. I didn't want to wait until it was done before I finished this video. I'll have another one for when I feel he's done and as prefect as he can be, so stay tuned for that one. Maybe within a few weeks of the new year.
Hope you enjoy the video, I know it's been a long time coming. He does look great and I am really happy with the finish on him. The body shop I used did a great job with him.
