I do not know what part of the world you are in. Here in pittsburgh we get times during the cold snowy months that the snow and salt are cleaned off the roads. That is when you jump on the chance to take it out. I know its not much to go on but its better then letting it sit all winter.
I don't have that luxury. My Corvette is stored in a back yard garage and there is no driveway to it . Have to drive through the yard and it gets too soft until end of April , so mine is grounded until spring. Wouldn't want to drive it on salt anyway even if the roads are dry.
Mine is a daily driver. It does just about as well as any other RWD vehicle I've ever owned. Just make sure to take the summer tires off, or you will die.
I'd love to do some mods in the garage, but it's unheated and too cold to be spending some time there. I'll just have to wait until spring..
In the 1930s, a man complained to Ettore Bugatti that his Bugatti was hard to start on cold winter mornings. Mr Bugatti looked at him disdainfully and replied "If you can afford a Bugatti, you can afford a heated garage."
I ski all winter...I have so much fun, makes me not think about the Vette too much. I do have to touch the cover when I walk by the Vette every so often. We reconnect that way!
I don't understand why you guys don't spend 100 or 200 and get a nice heater for the garage or buy a 50 dollar space heater and wait an hour then go do work. No weather is going to keep me from turning a wrench. I lived in Chicago until I was 20 and I was dammed if a few feet of snow was going to stop me.

^^^ this too. I got one of those torpedo heaters that can run off deisel or kerosene. I only use it with deisel. Screw trying to find a gas station that has kerosene. I do work in my garage all winter.
Currently in the process of replacing the timing set on the vette along with some other goodies. After that, I'm parting out a crashed 98 civic ex I got for free from a coworker. Then comes an engine swap for my s70 t5. Volvo engine delivery this saturday woohoo!
I have to say, something about the smell of that heater gets me in the mood for working on cars lol.
carriagetownvette,My car goes into storage to for the winter moths tires off , up on jack stands cover on…….Sometime I go out and lift the rear of the cover over the 1/4 panel..Kinda reminds me of sneaking a peek under the skirt of a pretty girlfriend.lol

My car is stored in a climate controlled garage year 'round, but it's not at our house. I like having it stored for the winter because it gives me a little break from waxing and cleaning.
DevilDog 11,yea i hear ya spent 15 years of my youth working as a auto/collision ,/restoration specialist in the east coast. barely heated garages. That was a long time ago.Now I like it warm
