I would either go back to a Camaro (I owned a 2010 for 3 1/2 years) or consider Chervrolet SS or Cadillac CTS or ATS.
It's hard to imagine life without a Corvette. Mine is my daily driver.

We're on a C5 board, right? Most cost around $20K, plus or minus $5K for condition and model. To be realistic you'd have to replace it with a similar valued car. Posting up an exotic is a pipe dream for most of us or we'd be driving ZR1s.

You can buy 2004/05 BMW M3 SMGs for around $20K:

Or a Roush (or similar) 2006 Mustang for around that money:

2009 370Zs come in around $20K:

For my $20K I'd probably just get a pickup:

My car is too fast for the street and is really too fast for the track as it sits. The only way to make it into a reasonably safe track day car would be to turn it into a full-on track car complete with cage and full suspension. It's too nice for that. My plan is to sell it eventually and buy a no-shyte track car. That's a ways off.

That's why I went with the Elise and NSX. Both sports cars with simple powertrains that are similar in price to the C5Z.

I assume we are talking brand new? Most c5z are in the low 20's I don't think you can get a nsx/elise in that price range. i haven't checked

No not new. 2005ish Elise or 90's NSX, both are out there for 20's just like a nice C5Z.

As a friend told me, "How do you cure Porsche's IMS problems….buy a Vette!" $20,000 invested to go 13,000 miles in my case….doesn't happen to everyone BUT YOU COULD BE NEXT! Best bet is NOT TO BET on Porsche. They advertise - Perfection! NOT! False! Perfection my backside!

This illustrates my point….
WOW, who would have thought?! We should start a thread not on what cars you would love to own but cars we gotta stay away from!!

Money no object I would have to go with a Koenigsegg Agera R, Pagani Huayra, or P1.

Around C5 $ I would be looking at a 6.0 GTO, Used M5, CTS-V or an S4. Sooooo many choices.
