I'm not fancy , just give me a 1966 olds 442 all black 4 speed convertible with bucket seats and console in showroom condition and you can have all of the rest.
This. Second choice would be an elise or a higher mileage exige if it could be found. Real first choice was a viper but I did that and wasn't as happy with it as I thought I'd be.
Bj1k,nice choice!Had a 71 442 vert w/30 opt (455) when I was 23.Power down from 70 but still had tons of torque, still moved pretty goog considering massive frame under it..you know about thathad to sell w/in 2 years …..kept getting speeding tickets!LOL!
I've heard the older vipers don't handle all that well. Any truth to that? I used to be a member of a Dodge Dakota forum, and people on there said the Viper shared a lot of front suspension components with the 2WD Dakotas. Says way more negative about the Viper than positive about the Dakota if true. haha

Mine was a gen 2 gts with basically stock suspension. It handles pretty well. The car had far more capability than you'd ever be able use on the street.

Saying they built the TA just to beat the vette is going a bit far. Yes, it's a version of the car that performs better than the base gen 5 and yes it's faster than a ZR-1 but that doesn't mean the vette was the purpose of the car. Does Ferrari build scuderas to beat vettes too?
I love that car/suv/truck/grocery getter. I would buy that!
A little subtle for you, isn't it, Rick? You would need to start modding immediately! Personally, I've gone small. I sold my Titan, and HHRSS, and bought a GTI. It's a blast to drive, and the mods available are endless. WAY more comfortable than my Z, too. Since my second spinal (neck) surgery, I drive my garage queen rarely, and I can no longer work on it. That's the worst part for me.
