Got all of the rear hatch area done tonight. I used some fatmat to get about 30% coverage. Then used frost king to cover almost everything and put a later of reflectix on top. I didn't cover every square inch or it'd take me forever. I'll take it for a drive tomorrow.
The rear took 2 rolls of frost king. I'm guessing I can do the front with 3 more. I'll post my progress.
Wow, I feel too old to be crawling around in this car. All done and have to say this would be way harder without the targa. I covered about 30% with fatmat. I covered everything in frost king and put a 2nd layer behind the seats and on the floorboards. I finally covered everything in reflectix. It took a little over 5 rolls. I'll use the rest of the 6th roll to cover the inside of the fenders at a later date.
I know there are naysayers about this mod. It was about 120 for everything and I have to say it really did make a difference. The cabin is much quieter now. All in all I'm pleased.
While the seats were out I touched up the bolster padding on the driver side. It's just starting to wear down. This literally took 2 minutes. I cut a section of foam, sprayed some adhesive on it, slapped it on top of the bolster, and zipped it back up. Easy.
Nice work sir, I was wondering how much difference the insulation makes as im getting ready to do the same thing when I get some extra time. keep up the good work.
Had a belt squeal the other day. Don't know why. It only lasted a day. On the side of caution I replaced the idler pulley. The belt was a gatorback and actually looked good so I didn't replace the belt. Time will tell if I need to do anything else.
Used the Chadwick's finally. I love it. Having a silver car hides the dirt, but also prevents that deep shine like a red or black car gives you. I was most impressed how well it cleaned the glass. I'll def be buying more. Check out how dirty the rag got lol
The car looks incredible almost more like polished metal than paint!
There has to be a trick to getting a good picture of Silver...most of mine turn out like that also but visually looks as slick as glass. Maybe one of our pro photogs on the forum can give us some tips...
Cleaned out those udders under the cowling. Not as dirty as I thought they'd be. The thread that showed how said to "milk" the trash to the top. Not needed. You can pull them out from underneath and clean them out way easier.
