Just a little time and a little money will fix it.

In the "old days" sports cars were supposed to be minimalistic (i.e. little to no creature comforts) because they were supposed to be all about performance. Nonetheless, sports cars evolved and today's sports car enthusiasts demand/expect more, so manufacturers have responded in various degrees dependent on their market target. The Corvette is a great, affordable platform to get into...and then modify and personalize to your heart's content...many on this board have outstanding examples of this. Enjoy your car and enjoy taking it to the level of appearance/performance you desire.

Here's some before and after pics of my interior...which by many standards is still rather minimilistic, but I like it:

My first Corvette was a 1959 and it came without a heater (heaters were an option in 59) and no radio. The dealer called it a California car, which was a common term for C1 no heater cars then. JC Whitney had a mod for the 59 where you could put shredded wet paper in a basket under the cowl vent and have a form of AC. Those were the days when a 17 year old with a good summer job could afford a one year old Corvette. As a hardtop only the 59 convertible compartment was a good place to store a cooler and spare parts and rags. Yep, I'm an old fart. I loved the '63 but with the sun over your shoulder you couldn't read the gauges and the door slides were notorious for falling off and breaking. You could see the transmission through the shift boot in some gears. If you replaced the spark plugs and didn't get the shielding just right your radio would click click click you to death - it did it to other cars too next to you at stop lights. Blue jeans would leave a blue hue on the vinyl seats after three months. Honestly, I think the 59 had the most comfortable seats, but of course no lateral support.
The plastic cracked on my gauge cluster in the 70 when I was driving home from Charleston and the gas gauges were at best general indicators and not exact. I've owned every generation except the new one and there's something about every one I've liked, so I guess I've never taken air-conditioning, power steering, a CD player etc for granted. I loved the 85 but it road like a tank and just getting into the seat over the door ledge was a challenge. I won't even go into those graphic style gauges. The 85 was notable because it was the first Corvette I owned in 25 years that didn't leak water around the doors, windows or top in heavy rain....T-tops on the C3s were famous for leaking. Off topic of the interior, the C4 had the best hood and engine access of the newer Corvettes. I loved that lift up hood. I liked the 2011, especially the new car warranty and heated seats and lack of squeaks and rattles, but I'm back in my C5 Z06 and loving it. I drive it to Carlisle and have no problems with the seats after a two day drive. Like the rest of most of us C5ers, I love the styling.
Compared to German sports cars, yes the interior leaves a lot to be desired, BUT THIS IS A CORVETTE and you can't beat the fun per dollar value and as American as apple pie. I'm happy with a sports car and it doesn't have to be a sports/luxury car for me to enjoy the driving experience.

I loved just about everything - good & bad - about the two different '65 roadster I used to own ... including barely hearing the radio from the one speaker in middle of dash when the top was down !
I guess if you don't like something about the interior of a car before you buy ... then don't buy it instead buying it then complaining about it !

Nobody feels attacked really but your "opinion" and opening remarks were pretty severe...."Horrible"..."the worst"...."like a "Yugo" etc.....some strong statements and you got some relatively strong statments in return.

So don't be upset, just rethink how you word your thread-starter. Compared to some threads I've seen, you fared pretty well.

Let us know what sort of modifications you do on your interior.

Later.......G

The OP didn't say if they were male or female so maybe we should have been more sensitive , but the talk did sound a lot like whining . I'll take bets that the OP doesn't even want the car , just looking for a reason to sell it.

Wow. I see you are keeping it about as classy as your C5 interior.

You typically offer more than asking price? If so, have several things I can sell you

No, I typically offer a lot less, especially when the seller is publicly bad-mouthing the quality.
We're speculating that the OP is thinking of selling his car, not buying one.

About the only car I've ever seen that had an EXCEPTIONAL interior is AUDI. I've had plenty of Vettes and the interiors were always the weak point, my Challenger has better seats. BUT, if you compare pirce vs. performance, it's hard to beat a Vette.
