On my 3rd viper, but no brand loyalty. Test drove a 911, looked at Nissan Gt-r, before settling on the Gen 5. If the C7Z had been on a showroom floor I would have looked at that too. I buy what appeals at that moment and couldn't care less who makes it.

I too am a GM guy.... not to say that I wouldn't own a Ford.... Personally, I like the Ford Raptor and the 03-04 Terminators...

Current cars are 08 Avalanche Z71, 01 Camaro SS, and of course my 01 C5Z....

Brand loyalty aside, I'm surprised at how people only seem to choose between ford, dodge or Chevy.

I prefer RWD cars with good handling which has been leading me to the Germans lately.

I am pretty loyal to Lexus for my DD. Have owned all generations of the LS plus a GS. Mainly due to the reliability and maintainability. I put over 25K miles per year on my DD"s. They are easy enough to do the simple maintenance ( brakes, plugs air filers etc...)

My wife on the other hand is drawn to BMW's. She has had several. I personally would not own one out of warranty. So we lease and turn back every 3 years.

I bought the vette not out of brand loyalty but more out of love for the model.

My loyalty has always been to America! Never owned a foreign vehicle. Beyond that I think the Ford vs Chevy vs Dodge argument is just silly. They all make good vehicles. Drive whichever one appeals to you.

Here's my Dodge sitting next to my Chevy.

Don't we live in a great country, where this discussion is even happening? What choices we have as consumers. My first car was a 67 CamaroSS 4 speed; in high school. I was brand loyal until I sampled other cars out of expediency or need. I've loved Pontiacs, Volvos, Acuras, and of course, Chevys. Right now, the wife drives a Ford Edge Sport, and we both love it. I DD a BMW X1-35i, and of course garage queen Z.

Doesn't Chrysler qualify as a foreign car these days?

Owned by Fiat, profits going to Italy, foreign car...

I really don't understand this mentality. If everything about the car is built and designed here, and some of the profits go to Italy, how is it a foreign car? I understand that the final designs and what not would have to be approved overseas, but I still can't grasp how you could consider Chrysler as a foreign car based on this.

For the same reason, I would rather support a company that actually builds their product here over one that claims to be American but oursources everything to other countries.

Unfortunately for me, most "American cars" are low quality FWD POS's so I've avoided them completely. The trucks, thankfully, are a different story. Out of the five Chevy/GMC trucks I've owned, only ONE was actually built in the United States

I wouldn't consider those, with the exception of the Tundra, to be "American" since most of the R&D would be done overseas. With that said, supporting the families of those paid to put them together in the USA sounds a lot better than supporting high level managers here that all got a bonus for eliminating thousands of US jobs.

The lines have really been blurred lately. At this point, as long as it isn't made in China, I don't mind buying it

It is really hard to know any more. I remember a few years ago the car with the lowest American content that was sold in the US was a Chevrolet. The Aveo only had 4% American content.

I have not and never will buy a car (new OR used) that is not a GM product...

Cars I have has since I was 17:

1980 Chevy Monza
1988 Pontiac Fiero
1990 Chevy Camaro
1991 Chevy Cavalier
1996 Pontiac Grand Prix
1991 Pontiac Grand Prix
2002 Pontiac Sunfire
2007 Pontiac G6
2007 Pontiac Grand Prix
and now resting comfortably in my garage...2003 Chevy Corvette

My wife?

1998 Chevy Beretta
1996 Chevy Astro Van
2002 Chevy Tahoe
2004 Chevy Tahoe
2007 Chevy Tahoe
2011 Chevy Tahoe

Out of all of these vehicles over 28 years only one (the Pontiac Sunfire) had the engine go out on me. Every other one ran great and was either traded in or was in an accident...

So yeah...I guess you could say I'm brand loyal!!
I have a lot of respect for that. While the same is not true of me for cars, I am that way for some products. I can guarantee if I were in your family there'd be nothing but GM for me!

No brand loyalty here - but I have loved and wanted a Corvette since I saw my first '63 when I was 7 or 8. It has always been my dream car. I haven't owned anywhere near 150 cars, that is alot, but here is what I remember of the cars I owned - a dogs breakfast of brands
67 Impala SS (gold/Bondo special)
6?Datsun 1000 Green (cooler car than you may think IMHO)
73? Pontiac Ventura Red (Wrapped around a tree )
7? Datsun B210 Robin's egg (gay)blue
66/67/68 hybrid beetle Blue Left on road dead
79 Ford Granada Burgundy
79 Jimmy Red / white (Fun to drive - eats gas!)
81? Olds Cutlass Cream coloured (most boring car I owned)
81 Honda Civic Silver/pewter - this was a great low $$car that we drove until 1998 -
Now I had 3 sons starting in 1984 - I love my sons, hated the Minivan years. Thank god that is over!
84? chrysler Minivan Brown - The Mitsubishi engine in that broke a con rod - now that was funny
89 Ford Aerostar - black - transmission replaced after 3000 KM
89 Firebird red - most times pulled over. T boned by some idiot
73 Mustang Fastback Yellow - Still own this -given to me by my Mother in Law who owned since new (God rest her soul)
91 Mazda B2200 -Black
91 LTD Crown Victoria - Silver
99? Dodge Neon blue - kids car
01 Cadillac DHS -Silver
98 Nissan Sentra (kids Car)
01 Toyota corolla black kids car - (tree got in the way again - different tree)
01 Toyota Corolla Blue - kids car
00 Ford Focus - Bronze- Kids car
03 Mazda Protege 5 Red (still own this car)
03 C5 Convertible black (FINALLY!)
