If you would have known the two pieces in my post fit together you would have posted a lonnnng time ago and sold a bunch. .I've never seen pictures of the ZR rear bumper with the standard C6 diffuser, GT500 diffuser or the Race Diffuser posted on CF and I'm here always looking for something new, most notably for flared front fenders and rear diffusers like sooo many others. Please direct to to a thread you started with pictures of any of the three diffusers from Extreme Dimensions mounted on a C5. I'm nor knocking the ZR rear bumper. I knew this was out there for a few years along with the rest of the ZR body panels offered through extreme dimensions. I have a set of the carbon ZR front fenders that will be on my car soon. But I knew that the rear ZR bumper basically accepted the C6 diffuser. So any of the other after market diffusers that are made for the C6 should fit up to the bumper because the bumper is basically a C5 bumper with the bottom portion having the C6 section molded into it. The GT500 is basically a knock off of the ARP diffuser. It will fit up to the ZR bumper but I do not know if the underpan will line up to the under carriage as it should. If this is what you like I'm sure it will look good. I did not like the way the diffuser looks on it. It arched in the middle like a frowny face. I guess because its shorter in length than mine. I had to lengthen a stock C6 diffuser 5" to fit up to the oem C5 bumper. I made mine in response to what a lot of members were asking for in past diffuser threads. They wanted one that would mount to the oem rear bumper and with no drilling or cutting. I made mine to these specifications. This can be mounted in about 15 minutes. Very simple. No body work. They were asking for a quality piece. Pete was wanting the same to assure a piece that did not have the quality issues he has had with some of the extreme dimension parts. So we teamed up with G3 carbon to guarantee a quality part made here in the US. It may be a bit more expensive than the extreme dimensions but the quality will be far superior. I feel that it is in line with the current market of quality carbon fiber parts. Look at what RK sports is charging for their carbon parts. $680.00 for their 1 piece engine cover. Just bought one. $360.00 for inner fender covers. I am working on an under pan that will attach to this diffuser to satisfy the track guys. But this will be later down the road. No disrespect to your post of the extreme dimensions parts just wanted to make a C5 specific part. Look at page 4 of this thread forum member supermot posted his C5 with this bumper with the standard C6 diffuser. He notes that it was a very difficult fit up. A lot of body work had to be done to make it work. Just something to take into consideration.

First off you're assuming! That GT500 diffuser hasn't been out for very long (maybe a year tops) and their new GT Racing diffuser just came out a few months ago. You do realize ED makes all my parts correct? I've known the owner there for over 15 years. If you missed the multiple threads about these well, that's not my fault, but im not going to go dig them all up. Here is one though (check the date)

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ssible-gb.html

Yes, you read it correctly 2009! On the last page of that thread there is a white Vette with the ZR rear and C6 diffuser. If the oem C6 diffuser fit, then it's only common sense that the other C6 diffusers would work. I posted a whole thread with MY car at Extreme Dimensions years ago getting all these parts built...Here, here's a couple pics since you don't believe me..

Finished on my Z

Another customers car

And there's a lot more out there. Oh and the fact that ED didn't know it fit makes me laugh. No disrespect to them because when you call you get a sales rep and they deal with over like 8000 parts, so you can't expect them to know what fits what. Just so you know, when they need questions answered about these parts, you know who they call? Yea, you got it bud, they call me.

Now lets not clutter this thread. If you want to know anything else you can always PM me. Im not trying to be a jerk, but you're acting like I don't know anything about these parts when in fact about 99% of what ED has made, I've had a hand in designing or approving.

Pete does sell both the Zr bumper and the GT500 diffuser you posted but if you figure in the cost of the bodywork and paint you are looking close to 2 grand. You can get the carbon fiber diffuser that is coming and bolt it straight on the day you recieve it for half the cost. Just taste and personal preference.
I was going to get a raw (Extreme Dimensions) one piece, have it painted and put it on the car. I changed my mind and have already made my partial payment and am getting the carbon fiber diffuser. I will be using the $$$ I saved to put halo LEDs in the rear and new lights in the front (those to are on pre-order). The great thing about the C5 is that there are enough options that everyone can have their car the way THEY want it.

A thread started 5-5-2009 is not current events and I must have missed it, my bad. When the GT500 diffuser was made available less than a year ago did you post pictures of it on the ZR bumper? Maybe a post with GT500 diffuser / ZR bumper installed on C5 would have grabbed attention?

Wow look at the first picture in this link. Looks the bumper was trimmed but I would have no problem doing that if iknew what diffuser they were using.

Looks like Caravaggio rear bumper on the red C5 top right. They don't list the diffuser as a separate item as far as I know

If you click on Quik Z06's name and go to his statistics and look at threads started by Quik Z06, scroll through and you will find a few differnt threads on the ZR bumper rear diffuser. Some way more recent than 2009. You have to understand that Pete sells a lot of parts C5 C6 and C7. He posts sales threads all the time on most of the more best selling items. Which being Hoods, wide rear fenders, side skirts, spoilers, and.front splitters. The ZR rear fascia, front ZR fenders are not in as much demand as the rest. Pete has a web site and if you go to it you can see all that he offers. Its got to be mind boggling to try and keep up with all he trys to put out. I understand that you can't satisfy everyone. I made mine based off what I wanted to see and what a lot here on this forum where wanting. May not be for everyone. There may be something else out there you like better. The problem that was at hand is acquiring them. Like the one you showed on the red vette or the chrome and carbon diffuser. A few pics but no way to buy them. I hope you get what satisfys your needs and taste wether its mine or any other piece you can purchase. I feel Pete does an exceptional job at getting product out there that people want. Trys to keep up with the trends and does his best to keep a positive customer service.

But it looks like it's not available on their website as far as I can tell.

I think that Stealth02 is on the right track. There will be plenty of buyers who are looking for a diffuser without the additional expense and step of changing the entire rear fascia.

This is 1 of 8 wide body cars with this rear diffuser Caravaggio ever made. They do not offer this as a reproduction part. It was only specific to those 8 vettes. Awesome piece though.

Stealth02, you seem like a great guy and everyone here including myself appreciates your efforts in developing a new C5 diffuser. I have nothing against Pete or the products he distributes, he has helped many here on CF and his efforts are appreciated as well. I was looking for Flared Front Fenders for my C5 and ran across the diffusers I posted and several more from Extreme Dimensions that I like. I wish both you and Pete success with the diffuser design you created and Pete is going to sell.

Its all good. Just wanted you to be aware of the extra costs fitting up the ZR rear bumper and what ever diffuser you decide to mate up with it. Not trying to sell you mine. But I was going to go with that same set up you posted before I made mine. I liked the look with the underpan but the outer fin was to blulky and I wasn't sure if it would fit to the rear cradle. I'm working on an under pan that will attach to the diffuser I made. This will be an add on option. There's not a lot of options out there for a C5 diffuser. I just wanted to bring this to market for those that wanted a direct simple bolt on. No body work or paint required. If you choose the extreme dimensions route I'm sure it will look fine once you get the fit . Post pics if you do go with it. I would love to see it. Joey from 9k racing did this exact fit up on his FRC build he was doing. Don't know what happened with it he just disappeared off the forum a short time after he modified my L5 's with the C6Z06 brake scoops. Take care let me know which route you go.

This is a wide body Caravaggio Corvette. The rear section of the car is 6 inches wider than factory.

This is a 100% functional lower rear diffuser. A must for track days or that ultimate racing look. Bolts on in about 1 hour.
Weight is under 10lbs.
It is a easy bolt on. Trim of the lower factory bumper and our rear diffuser bolts in from the back side and has a brace and bracket that attaches to the lower control arm bolt.
Our Diffuser was designed around the B&B 2 tip Exhaust system but other 2 tip systems could work as well.
"The ultimate racing look"? Sorry...more like the ultimate embarrassing look.

Here are a couple I found that would be the closest I have of a full side shot. The first pic with diffuser in grey primer is before the final fin was rounded. Sorry I didn't get a chance to get all the pics I wanted after the final adjustments where done. They wanted it shipped so they could get the molds going.

Default How soon?

I'm on the pre-order list for a carbon fiber diffuser. Do we have any idea as to when these will start to ship? I sure hope its on before the end of summer... And are there any pictures of the carbon fiber unit? THANKS
