Runflats are not for everyone. I bet a lot of runflats come off the C7s just like the C5s.

I took the Goodyear run flats off the '07 at 19k miles and put Michilen A/S3's on, night and day difference. That got rear ended by a lady before I could put 1k miles on them. They were great, quiet and stable compared to the OEM run flats.
Then we have the ''10 GS. At 9k miles I couldn't live with the darting around the road when hitting bumps/cracks or anything else. I put Bridgestone RE050's on and once again it was night and day. No longer scary to drive. The tires grip well, are quiet and still give me the security of run flats.

BTW! My wife's BMW 650 came with the same Bridgestone RE050's.
If anyone wants run flats then get them. No biggy to me. It's your car so do it. As for me, I had several reasons for switching and thought about my options for a while before leaving RF's. Here's my thoughts:
Someone pointed out earlier that the main reason people switch from RF's is because RF's are so expensive. Well if someone can't afford a set of run flats then they have no business buying a Corvette. I think for a lot of us that switched, money was not the issue.
1. I got tired of feeling like I was driving a jack hammer. With run flats I felt like I could feel every single bump on the road.
2. I never liked the idea of hearing tire noise over the roar of the engine.
3. I didn't like having to yell to have a conversation with the person riding with me because of my run flats.
4. I couldn't stand the feeling of the hard tires. Ask anyone who has ever switched from RF's to "real" tires and they'll know what I'm saying.
5. Before anyone switches ask yourself this: When was the last time you had a flat? I've been driving 41 years and I've never had a flat. Sure, I've picked up nails and/or had slow leaks, but I drove to a tire store and got them fixed before they became flats. Now, if someone is the kind of driver that gets flats often, then by all means, do NOT switch from run flats. In fact, if you drive on bad roads that give a lot of flats, why buy a Corvette? Perhaps that person should consider a truck.
6. Most new cars today do not come with a spare and they don't come with run flats either.
I switched because I weighed all of these things and for me, it was best for me and I'm thrilled with the results. If someone doesn't want to switch for any reason then don't. Bottom line, enjoy driving your Vette the way you want to drive it.

Why are you even following this post if it upsets you so much? Unsubscribe and your BP should get back to normal.
I have run both and there is a BIG difference on my car.
I have run both and there is a BIG difference on my car.
Then I simply explained what happened when I gave non-runflats a try. That's the best thing about this forum. It's a bunch of nice Corvette owners who share information. You are free to do what you want with your car but I highly recommend reading what others have tried. Some succeed and some fail. The information you find on this board is free and you are free to do with it as you please.
Now, lets go drive regardless of the kind of tire we have.
