I've had B&B Bullets on my car for years and have never been pulled over, and my car is extremely loud. Maybe they just think that an old guy with gray hair is harmless.
I guess it's a sign of the times we live in . I think the cops got way more on there plates than a Hot Rod Corvette going by in a way I'm not sure that's as good as it sounds .The cops here in Houston give us Corvette drivers breaks all the time .Lot's clubs here and we do good things rise money for different needs around the place ,kids , vets witch I am one that goes a long way still no reason to break the law ,officer there was a Bee in the car that's why I was going 105 MPH OK I will drop this to 75 MPH and you got to go to driving school, true we are an older drivers and try to do the right thing ,driving a Corvette that will do 200 MPH ,I read in the manual that at time need to go really fast to to keep it lubed up ,that's my story and I'm sticking to it .. ..COOL
I recall years ago with my friend in his c5 before I got a vette. We were going under the limit in town and we're coming to a stop light. Two lanes were open because everyone else was in one lane. I don't know why people do that... You see 6 cars in one lane waiting during the green light when two lanes are open.. Any way sorry, he just cruised passed them and a cop sped up behind him and lit the tree. He pulled over and the cop was very rude and claimed he was speeding passed everyone. My friend was very calmed and simply stated that it looked that way because everyone was stopped. The copsaid if he got more aggressive then he will cite him and tow the car. He walked off and my friend was terrified to drive the car after that. That's was nonsense in my opinion.
For me I got pulled over the night I bought my c5. I bought it out of town and drove in with my wife at that time and we were going to eat and I get the lights. I pull over and another officer pulls up. He said one of the tail lights was out and I told him let me see but it was the blackouts and he understood. I showed him the bill of sale that I had just bought it and we understood but when he asked where my insurance was I like felt I insulted him or something when I said it was in my other corvette. He got surprised but defensive and rudely said what other corvette? I told him the other one in my garage. He asked how I can afford two corvettes and I told him I manage my money and work for myself. He then proceeded to walk over the whole car with the other officer as to find something wrong. He didn't and seemed hesitant to let me leave. At the end I was given a warning and drove off. Very weird. It's like some people just can believe that others have a nice car.

I spent over 3 1/2 decades in law enforcement and don't ever recall stopping someone or giving them a ticket because I was envious of the car they were driving. I purchased my '98 in 2000 when I was still a police officer. I can't begin to tell you how many neighborhood activities I went to where one of my neighbors or someone else would make reference to the fact that I must be taking bribes or that I was paid way too much because I was driving a Corvette. I guess it works both ways.

I had a close friend tell me I have to much money after I bought my 03 zo6 last year
best part is he just bough a 2013 escalade around the same time, in 2012 I bought a new SUV $63k seamed like no one really even noticed?
Corvettes seam to bring out the best and sometime the worst in people , It's just a car well maybe it's not just a car ( GOT TO LOVE IT ) Were I live I am know as the Corvette guy I have 3 German cars ,why not the German car guy ?
I guess I'm lucky but I have never had a problem like this at all and I've been driving my car for over 8 years. And there are plenty of reasons for me to be pulled over... too low to the ground, tinted windows, loud exhaust,
There's a principal in town at the middle school that has a corvette and he's always getting flack about how he must be making too much money yet it's a normal c5. It goes to show that they always look new and current. Gotta love a corvette.
Yeah my neighbor once thought I sold drugs because I had two of them..
I feel like I've been profiled several times while driving my vette.
I've worked at the same building for 10 years, drive my vette very frequently. Park it in the same spot since I've owned it. The street outside of my building frequently is used as a speed trap. I had an officer sitting outside of my building "speed" trapping people. 5pm rolls around, I'm watching him out of my office window for the last hour pull people over. I go get in my car, drive 20 feet to the end of my parking lot, use my blinker and get pulled over the second I start turning onto the street.
Ask why he pulled me over, he responds "I got reports of a speeding yellow vette in the area." He saw my car sitting in the lot for over an hour.
Another incident, driving down a main road, officer pulls a 180 and follows me for blocks on my route to work, pulls me over after following me for about 2 miles. Reasoning? "Swerving" completely false.
Another incident, driving at night coming home from a movie, officer pulls a 180 follows me, pulls me over. Reasoning "Swerving" (go to reason?) officer said "this is a nice car, what do you do for a living?" ... really?
Officer pulls in from a side street behind me (never able to see the front of my car), pulls me over, before walking to the window he walks to the front of the car and checks for a front license plate. Reason for pulling me over? "Speeding" (I wasn't) "Giving you a warning, slow down." he said. But I wasn't speeding. Got a ticket for no front plate (I don't have one, so I can't argue that I guess, it is illegal).
I've gotten 2 front plate tickets, that's it. I do get pulled over alot in my Vette. I have been let off once when I was caught speeding, so it does go both ways. But I definately think there is profiling.
I NEVER get pulled over in my mini van... ever. Never had an officer do a 180 to follow me in my mini van. (Shrug).
cops only talked to me once about the vette . i was in a parking lot taking plates off an acura we had sold while buyer was in getting new ones . my thought was ''they think i'm stealing plates'' . all they wanted was to know the year and color name of blue because cop wanted to paint his motorcycle that color . . . peace
"Swerving" is a definite go-to excuse. Hard to defend because it's subjective. I was told by a police officer that when they come up behind you they know you're looking in the rearview mirror, so they drift to the line on the shoulder and you will tend to do the same thing.

Cross the line = enough for swerving.
A couple more good old standbys are "Weaving", "Failure to Maintain Single Lane", "Following Too Closely",........or my personal all time fav:
"Failure to Observe Traffic Control Device, To Wit: No Dumb-Azz Zone Sign".
I will say for certain, that Georgia police in general are MUCH less aggressive and traffic hostile than Pa.
I can see some people saying that this never happened to them, and so it must be the driver, etc. I can assure you, just because you don't experience something in your locale doesn't mean it isn't happening elsewhere. If you're an old gray hair driving your Corvette in pa, you probably won't have an issue, as this is the perception there...old retiree belongs in a Corvette. If you're a young guy though, with a modded Corvette (I mean legal mods...wrap, lowered, wheels, etc)...you won't make it one month without being stopped...guaranteed....no chance. It's as simple as the times you're out driving. I would head to the casino in my vette and be coming back at 1am-3am...I'd get NOTORIOUSLY stopped...purely illegal...a fishing expedition for charges. I kid you not, I know women that are afraid to be stopped by police in some towns. May sound crazy to you gated community types, but it happens...there are bad cops out there big time.
I only once had an interaction with the police in the C5. I was on a 45 MPH 4-lane road and was next to another C5 and accelerated a bit to hear the sound from the Callaway Double D exhaust the other driver had. The officer just pulled up next to me at the next light and said "cut it out".
Now the previous XLR on the other hand, that was a different story, that thing got the attention of everyone. Especially the police and Mercedes SL drivers.
