Anyone running Nitto NT555/NT555R on their Z? I'm considering NT555 275/40-17 on front and NT555R 305/35-18 on rear with stock rims. Not a DD just a sunny day cruiser. Looking for any pros/cons or comments.
Thanks.

I'm considering this same setup on my weekend warrior. I can't offer any feedback because I have no experience with these tires but I would imagine it would be a nice combo for a sunny day cruiser.
Been running nitto for years. I prefer the nto5's, I am currently running nto5 275 upfront and nt05r's 305 in the back. My car is a weekend warrior.
Are you running stock wheels? I plan on buying the same except the 295 rears. I never thought of running the 305's on the stock wheels but since the fronts are a little wider with the 275's vs 265 stock size maybe that would balance out the front difference better using 305 instead of 295. How do you like them so far? Got any pics?
I think this setup would be fine. Not sure on how the handling would be though with two different tread patterns. Just keep it as a sunny cruiser as they won't handle well in the rain.

I will be running the stock wheels, but don't have the tires on yet. Will post when I do with my opinion, although it will be a few months before it's warm enough here in the frozen northeast.

Nittos website recommends using the NT555s on the front with the NT555Rs on the rear. 👍🏻
NT05's here on stock wheels 275/295, really good tire for the $ IMO. Weekend warrior car, I wouldn't want to dd them in rain. They are 'ok' in rain, they don't grip very well in cold weather.

what kind of power is your car making?... personally I prefer nt05r's over the 555r out back... nt05r will have better dry traction, they handle good in dry weather, and are stable at high speeds... the drawbacks are that they will not last as long as the 555r and won't handle quite as well in rain... I run the nt05r out back with invos on the front and haven't had any issues with that setup... I would think nt05's or nt555's will also be fine up front
I was looking at mine just yesterday 100 weir rating want last long at that .. Good traction in dry in the rain not much traction going in the wet .. I have 305 /35/18s 12 1/2 in of rubber on ground .. I like them but have another set of street tires on another set of rims is the way to go that way you change back and forth easy..

Hi, making 498 rwhp. I looked at the NT05s also but thought the 555Rs maybe a little better in the wet, although I don't plan to do much driving in the rain unless caught by surprise.

I would definitely go with the nt05r's at that power level... mine did really well with a little over 700 and still pretty good at 800+ but I am probably going to try the et street s/s next... the 555r will probably do better in rain but if you don't drive it daily then I wouldn't be too concerned about it... I got caught in a storm once and was still able to do 70mph on the highway comfortably
I ran the 555 front and 555R rear for many years before the 05R tire came out. The tread patterns b/w the two 555 tires are very comparable... there is no issue there, only that the 555R will not last too long, since its a DR.
I've had my TT setup on the car for 11 years at over 600rwhp and 600rwtq for that time. Nothing is going to hook perfectly in lower gears, but the 555R was a significant upgrade over other hi-perf, summer tires which would spin at 100mph when dropping the hammer.
The 555R will outhook the regular NT05 (not the NT05R), so if it comes down to 555R vs NT05 for the back, I'd take the 555R.
Last year, I had the car mini-tubbed and stepped up to an 18/19 combo, so I run 345/30-19 NT05Rs out back now, with NT05 up front.
Have 275 NT555's up front, 295 NT05 out back. Surprising thing I learned it on Wet roads the front goes way before the rear, the NT05's grip great in the wet, and we know how well they do in the dry...

Sorry, I totally missed this thread. They are on c6z rep wheels 18/19 I am 275/35/18 front and 305/35/19 rears (I believe, I will check later today). I have ran nittos on all my fun cars for a long time I love them.
Here's a pic of the car with the rims and tires on it. If you want anymore pics just let me know.
