I will never own a C7, man oh man is that thing ugly from behind. I had a C5 for 9 1/2 years and loved it. The C6 Grand Sport was the only thing that swayed me to sell my C5. The way we now laugh & cringe at 80's mullets and fashion is the way we will cringe when we see a C7 in 20 years.

from such an "established" Corvette forum member that's a pretty ignorant series of statements
Makes me wonder if the C3 guys felt the same way about the C5 back around Y2K.
I grew-up in the early / mid 1970's, washing & waxing (before 'detailing') C3s for delivery at a dealership with a high volume of Corvette sales, and always wanted one:
bought a new Z28 in 1979, began drag racing it, and the thoughts of owning a Corvette waned for 20+ years, until I bought a low-mileage '82 (Z28, which I still have, went into storage) in '00, and began 'noticing' the C5s we'd see at Corvette outings
sold the C3 when my fiancee's health failed and she couldn't enjoy it any-longer in 2012, put money aside in an envelope for 'buying a more-comfortable Corvette when she got better', which never materialized:
began looking for a C5 in mid-'15, and bought the Electron Blue coupe I'm now driving
I never harbored any 'resentment' for any generation of Corvettes, or their owners, regardless of my personal tastes or dislikes

Why? If that is his opinion then he has every right to say that on a forum dedicated to these cars. I have a C7 and love it but his opinion on it means nothing to me, obviously i completely disagree but he has the right to his shitty opinion

Did I miss the part in my post where I told him he wasn't allowed to be so ignorant and close minded?
suddenly you made your self sound like a hypocrite being that my post is my very own opinion LOL

For Christ sake, that's what liberal fascist democrats do. If they disagree with you, they start calling you names and applying denegrating labels to you rather than state some basis for their difference in opinion.
I've been around a long time and I had a C2 that I just parted with after over 44 years. I bought my C5Z just as the C6 was arriving. I didn't really care for the C6 and I don't have an appreciation for the rear of the C7. It looks too much like a Camaro for my taste. If I want to drive a car that looks similar to a Camaro from the rear, I'll just drive my Camaro.
The C7 was suppose to be designed to attract the buyer that had been buying European cars and Japaneese cars. To me it looks like two different design teams worked on the front, roof lineand sides, than the team that workerd on the rear bumper design. They just look disconnected to me. Maybe by the time the C8 hits, it'll be something I like and want to buy. Until then, I like the C5Z and I'll just keep it.
...Corvette fans should appreciate all generations and the evolution of the brand. There would not be a C7Z if there wasnt a C6Z or a C5Z before that...Why can't we all just enjoy the brand without the need to prove one over the other? Many C7 (Z) owners have owned, or still own, their C5s.

I agree. And while I prefer certain Corvette generations over others, I'm really just a fan of all things Corvette.
I have been following this thread for a while, and this came to me, I sure am glad they change from generation to generation !!!
Agree with that. One problem is that the same generation appears to be the only ones who really want them. I think they did the right thing by shaking things up a bit with the C7. It's a great car, and worth the premium over the C5/6, no question about it.
