Glad to see it finally worked out for you. You've put a lot of money into your car, but hopefully it will now be a solid performer for you for many years!

Glad you finally found your fix!
Sadly i'm in the same position. This car has cost me more than any AMG Mercedes Benz i've owned (8 of them)

I'm pretty new on the forum and this was the best thread I have read yet.
It's amazing how many very helpful posts were given the OP by some very knowledgeable members here. Kudos to all those that helped, and to the OP for hanging in there and not giving up. It's a shame the guilty builder would not help with finances incurred due to his incompetence.

I have a few threads on my car... lots of good info to be found, I hit probably some of the worst issues consecutively - most brought on by a bad builder.

Thankfully the 'Vette community is one of the best.

I am happily driving the car now... my final issue is a bit of oil consumption but it is expected with piston rock causing blowby and such. I've put a couple thousand miles on the car, drove it from WA to CA - no issues to speak of besides the oil consumption.

I'll make a new thread in general stating my overall feedback on my car/aftermarket parts for fun.

Wow. I actually think about the original post all the time because I have a habit of trying to have things done right, but they backfire on me.

Glad and you got everything worked out man!

Yup... it was / still is a trip. Engine failure, go way above and beyond, and have everything go wrong.

My parents still question my sanity why I kept at it. I keep saying I will sell it, but I guess after putting so much effort into it... even if it keeps breaking, i'll just garage it and work on it on my own time.

Some memories are too hard to let go - took my grandfather out for a spin in it before he passed away due to cancer. It was probably the last time I saw him really smile and laugh.

I am very happy for you that its all worked out..

You have to tell us how the engine performs now that it working properly.

Did it meet the expected performance measures you expected??

Do you think the problems damaged or jeopardized the internals?

WELL DONE!!

ENJOY

Bill

Engine performs quite well, there is a bit of a flat spot at 3k RPM though. Probably a tuning issue.

Some day i'd like to try and break 700HP from the crank, NA... thinking a vacuum pump+102TB,102Manifold, should get me close. It is putting down the power I expected currently.

I believe there is some damage to the internals, but its just a gut feeling. Will see how long the block lasts.
