Every year the kids ask, what do you want for your birthday. I think I have a good suggestion for this year. Just wish they came in colors!
YES! My Birthday present to me this year is way cheaper than last year. I bought the 03 Coupe home on my day last year. This year a quick jack and a small tool chest on rollers.
Well, Fed Ex delivered the power unit and one track yesterday. Perhaps the second track today. Somehow , it ended up from Texas to Memphis, Tn and back to Tomball,Texas last night. And early this morning Cypress , Tx. ?????????. Oh well, tis what it tis. At least it's not 3 weeks and still waiting for parts to repair one of my lawn mowers. ;-)
The only wall with space for storage of the jack faced the street and the dark color made it easy to spot, not good security. Both were painted white and now they blend into the wall. Here's a picture of both colors before the second was painted. The bottom docking parts help guide each jack into position before locking to the wall. QuickJack doesn't seem to want to offer options on this product like the color, jack handle or caster wheels to increase profits; photos were sent to them and nothing changed.
First oil change with the Quickjack . . . on my son's Mazda 6.
The BMW and Corvette have pads for lifting but this Mazda has pinch welds. I'm using homemade pinch weld adapters but think the magnetic metal type would make lining things up a lot easier. Only problem is I've got four different cars (wife's Toyota Venza, my Subaru Baja, son's Mazda, and daughter's Acura) that the pinch weld adapters would have to fit and all have different length and thickness and height on the welds. I imagine it will be tough finding an adapter that fits all of them. The rubber block type sold by Quickjack (and others) might be more versatile.
Well, finally got the 3rd package in 2 days ago so unit together and working yesterday morning. Had a gallon of Shell Tellus 32 hyd oil about so used that instead of ATF. All seems to be good.
Thanks for this idea! I have one as well for my SLC .
The Fran special! LOVE those cars. His chassis is ridiculous. Can't wait to build one myself. I built a bunch of GTM's and met him in 2010...whole different level of car right there.
Finally had a need to get the front of my car up to see what was wrong with the left blinker. I go in from the bottom as it's easier for my old body and big hands. LOL.
Took a bit to get it set up for the 1st time under the car and learned a bit. But unit worked nicely.
As for speed in getting to the front panel I needed to remove, not as fast as just driving up my ramp or just driving up on a 2x8 board and slipping my big jack under the front and coming up with it and just sliding a couple jack stands for safety.
But for getting the whole car up in the air for maintenance. Oh YES! Love it.
And will play with some ideas on leaving it partly set up. But that's for rainy day weather and while the weather's good down here, Vette and bikes time. ;-)
I told my wife I sure would like to have a 5000. She asked how much does it cost. I told her and she said "Oh look! There's a rabbit behind that bush!" and started looking at her ipad.
I took that as a no.
Sigh.

I got the 3500 as it was all I needed. $1125 to the door.
