Anyone know anything about the mugs safety record for these?
There's videos of them running full speed into a car lifted on the quik jack. I'd get on a creeper and beat the living hell out of the bottom of my car with a sledge hammer if I had to. It's stout man. It ain't going nowhere. It's also engineered to hold over 20K pounds structurally. The motor won't lift that much weight, but the lift itself will hold it up. There's videos of that as well.

The problem with this is that not everyone wants to put a permanent lift in their garage. Plus you can take this to a friend's house, setup a temp lift in some spare space if your main lift is being used up... It's really an underrated tool. With as much lifting that I do for my car to prep it for races and maintenance, it's saved my back, and I don't dread having to get the car in the air with it takes 20 seconds to setup and lift. Plus I can move my car out of the garage and store the Quik Jack away when I want the whole garage floor for some woodworking projects, and not have to deal with posts in the ground.
im definitely interested in a quickjack group buy. do they do this?? but then again with paypals 6 payments no interest is hard to beat. instead of forking out 1200 right now,
Do it. If you turn a wrench a bit on more than 1 car, it's worth every penny. It makes EVERYTHING so much easier. Cleaning and detailing, removing tires, changing brake pads, even inspecting em. Inspecting tires, oil changes... I swapped my sway bar and it took a total of 15 minutes because I didn't have to spend 10 minutes getting it on 4 jack stands... I don't have to break my back to line up a jack, get it up and then lower it onto a jackstand. Hell, I don't even use jackstands. I'll lift it and keep it in the air for 2 weeks at a time while I wait for the next autocross. I can cram in my garage more on the other side since I don't really need to be able to access a jack point. All I have to do is go grab the handle and pull it towards that side of the car.
When it's parked and not in use I just shove them to the center of the car and leave them there.
When I replaced my harmonic balancer it saved my back because I'd get the car 21" high and work under it, then find that I needed to work from the top just for a couple of things, and then go back to lifting it. Instead of keeping it lifted and leaning in with a stepstool and killing my lower back, I'd just drop the car nearly to the ground, turn a wrench, then 15 seconds later it was back in the air. I must of done this about 20 times for the whole pulley swap.

as I'm new to doing all my own car work. I' looking to get into it. First chore changing out my pads that squeak and dust like crazy for ceramic ones. My z only has 6900 miles on it. But I want to learn and don't wanna take the car to places I can' trust touching it. Plus. I want to be able to detail or just clean the wheels easier and maybe take them off and clean calipers and rotors for a more thorough wash.
plus i picture must able to use it to do basic maintenane on my daily driver and the girls car.
I keep trying to justify getting it since it's so cool. Lol. Force me to do basic car work.

Couple new questions:
1) Is there any reason to look at the BL-5000EXT? I also have a Lexus IS250 as my daily driver and haven't looked at the minimal and max jack points distances, but can't the BL-5000SLX work?
2) My vette is lowered ~ 1.5 inches on stock bolts and cut bushings overall. Will the BL-7000SLX sit too low and I would have to drive onto 2 X 10 plywood to get enough clearance??
Sorry I tried searching the forum and also Google but I'm going to buy one soon and needed advice.
I'm not sure if you bought one yet but I had the dilemma. My '14 Lexus IS 250 AWD requires the EXT because the lift points are so far apart. They exceed the 60" of the SLX. The problem is the minimum spread for the EXT is almost too long for the Vette. You might be able to make it fit it not you can turn them sideways and lift the car that way but then it will be a hassle to do exhaust work. I think it will work long ways with the car but it will be tight. I am ordering mine tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks for the reply! I'm primarily buying the quickjack for my vette as I may replace my IS250 anyways in a year or so. So I would rather buy the SLX then instead of the EXT. Do we need to use jacking pucks (I've got the aluminum ones I bought from a forum vendor years ago) in addition to the rubber pads provided with the quickjacks?

I use hocky pucks along with the smaller set of rubbers. Gives me 18" to the bottom of the car. Have not tried just using the supplied rubbers yet. This is on the 3500 unit.
For anyone on the fence about buying a Quik Jack, you can still pick one up at Corvettes at Carlisle show price (significant discount) until the end of September 2018. Give Chris a call at (304) 629-4768

Interested. How significant is the discount? Considering the BL-5000SLX. Feel free to PM me.

I can't answer that. Like I said, give Chris a call. He's a great guy, I've never met a more honest guy, he'll answer every question you have and won't pressure you into a sale. You won't be sorry. He's a good guy. Just keep in mind that he lives on the east coast, so if you live on the western side of the country, keep the time difference in mind when calling.
And he's a coal miner, so he may be at work if he doesn't pick up. But leave a message and he'll get back to you asap.

This is the problem I've run into with my Kwik Lift. No, it's not permanent, but it's big enough & heavy enough to where I don't want to disassemble it... plus, it's just too big (and heavy) to store, with 2 cars in the garage. So, I park the vette on it. The problem is, when I want to take the vette out, it takes about 20 minutes to set up the approach ramps & move the other cars... so the vette doesn't come out as much as I'd like. And then, when I get back, I have to set everything up again & it takes some doing to get the vette lined up with the ramps.

I feel your pain. My QJ stays underneath my car in the garage. I never need to move it or even worry about hitting it because it stays at the centerline of the car.
Just FYI… I stopped by a local Costco and they had the 5000SLX model in-club for $999.99. I’d check your local club, could be available near you too. Their item number is 1268102

Very good deal but anyone interested should jump on it quick - it will go fast and is likely a one-time deal between Costco and Quick Jack. It is not listed on the Costco.com website so it is probably just in-store and likely in just some stores.
