Default New Louvers

Finally got the new louvers in! Haven't had time to clean or test them just yet though. They are from TrackSpec, and they are amazing quality. What do yall think?

Looks great! That should keep the air flowing in the Texas heat.

Haven't followed your other threads about the hood & vents, what's the plan for the car --- track or street?

What about front end lift at high speeds?

Drag racing but still wanting to drive it on the streets from time to time. My plans are:
-LS 6.0 Iron 402" with forged internals
-AFR Mongoose complete heads
-Custom grind Comp Cam for superchargers
-Maggie Heartbeat Supercharger
-Pfadt stage 3 drag suspension pack
-Carbon fiber front functional lip, side skirts, mirrors, front fenders, 2" extended rear panels and some interior pieces to get rid of weight
-18x11 rear rims with NT05R tires and 17x9 front rims with Nitto Motivo Guides
-Ed Quay drag wing
-Relocate fuel tank in trunk with fuel cell
-Transbrake and a transmission stiffener (I believe thats what is it called)
- Replace carpet with lighter weight and fire resistance variant
-Possibly changing the headlights to the lay flat radioflyers
-Roll cage with two helmet catch nets with 6 point harness and two racing seats
and I think those are all the plans for now haha

They should really let the engine bay heat escape.

Haven't tested it in high speeds just yet, doing that this weekend. But should be better with less under hood pressure

Extremely tacky looking. I guess is you're a young guy, it's the style now. Custom hoods are available with the vents, and are probably cheaper than the CF hoods with house vents.

I wanted the CF for light weight and the style I am going for with the rest of the car, And I couldn't a CF hood with vents and a 4" high rise within my budget, so I did a cheaper route. At least the vents are made for the C5 and don't look as shitty as some vents I have seen . But I am a younger guy though, 22. I lean more towards function rather than looks though.

Nice looking hood and it is well vented. Of course as far as the race
aspect goes you have little down force with this hood.

I like the idea of venting, even for a street only car. But, sorry...
-Not a CF guy
-Do not like the hood, car color contrast
-Don't like the frog eyes
And on to the vents...
-Entirely wrong shape for a C5 IMO; too jagged, needs to be curvy
-Looks like an add-on to the hood also, doesn't match the lines
Not at all my taste, but enjoy, it's your car.

I see high school students do this kind of modification to the hoods of their mid '80s to mid '90s Jeep Cherokees all the time. The fact that they are driving vehicles purchased for less than $1500 makes it somewhat understandable. Why anyone would do this to a C5 Corvette, however, ... well ... umm ...

Thanks for your honesty. The color contrast wont be just the hood for long though, getting more carbon fiber in in the future.

Why would they? To vent out engine bay heat, and get a tad bit better down force. Sometimes this edge helps the engine live longer, or even win money in races haha plus these aren't your typical louver, they were designed specifically for the C5 and had to be placed in specific spots for them to work correctly. Also I get a lot of trash from guys who don't race or still have completely stock bodied corvettes.

Cause if you are thinking "oh just another young guy with a corvette his parents bought for him" you are totally wrong lol I've been working since I was high school just so I could buy a C5 corvette. Found this one for 10k maybe 2 years ago and paid in full. Parents hate the car lol so no help from them at all. All the work done to this car is completely from my pockets and my skills on engines. Damn proud of my work too.

It was a kind way of saying I wouldn't do it to my car, but we're not talking about my car we're talking about yours. You're free to do what ever you want regardless of opinions of your car...

Never thought that for a second and really don't care... I started working at 13 and had a five year old 69 Camaro SS my senior year of high school. Like your Corvette, it was all on me. All good!

True true, and nice! It feels good when you accomplish your goals without the help of others, and My friend would **** a brick to have a 69 camaro ss
