Anyone have there C-5 wrapped? Have it priced out,it's about $6000 less than a paint job,my car is almost 18 yrs old and although it looks good,it's far from perfect. I plan on keeping it cause it's not worth trading it in,they wouldn't give me much anyway. It's still fun to drive with the KB supercharger I have. About 600 rwhp. Here's a pic of what I might do,although I'd have what is white in this picture done in black. I know this pic is of a C-7
I drove a black ZR1 that was wrapped a pearl white. Looked amazing. I believe it was done for around $2k. It really looked great. Besides that thing being a flat out beast.

Beautiful car. The wrap was very well done. It was on the lot at Haacke motors in Layton Utah. Carter keeps amazing cars in stock on that lot. I was in there a few weeks ago and Carter had his new NSX on the showroom floor. He was on a waiting list for it for two and a half years. He got the 2nd one in the state of Utah I believe.
He also had a really sharp Lambo in getting an exhaust.
I'm not sure who did the wrap on the ZR1 but it really looked phenomenal.

That wrapped C7 looks really good. The design on it fits with the sharp lines of the car but I'm just not sure that same design would work on the more rounded lines of the C5. Just something to consider. Anyway, a wrap can totally transform a vehicle so good luck in whatever you decide and post up pics when it's done.
Wraps are really cool and you can be very creative. The C7 has angular lines and that wrap looks great, for C5 I think it would have to be softer, because of the body design, but just my opinion. It appears that wraps are the way of the future.
I say go for it! You can even do it yourself. Several write-ups on here about it. I love the flat colored wraps. But they get a lot of hate for some reason..
Anybody know how wraps handle chips or pebble hits? Do they cover chips in warranty or roll of the dice. I was thinking of wrapping mine instead of painting it but my side mirrors have chip marks as well on the hood. Will wraps cover these up?
Mine was wrapped white when I bought it. It's starting to bubble in spots, and it's coming loose from the "CORVETTE" inlay on the back bumper. I've considered removing it, but I have no idea what condition the paint is in, plus I really like the white and black look.
True but if a wrap only last for lets say 2-3 years at $2k your better off just painting and paying the $4k for a paint job.
I also hate to get hit and an insurance company not covering the cost to rewrap.
Have you looked into the price of a good paint job? You'll be surprised at what you'll get. I'm sure there are places that will do it for $4000,but I wouldn't do it. Wraps are supposed to last longer than 2-3 yrs,I think the stuff they have now is a lot better than what it used to be. Plus with a wrap you can pretty much do whatever you want as far as a design, try do that with paint and you'll be well over 10k to do it.
Wraps are good, I plan on wrapping mine once I get all the body pieces together. If wraps get damaged some companies have a warranties that will replace the damaged portion. Now a days is ridiculous for an actually good paint job. My wrap would cost me 2400, for the same color and everything just like I'd have the wrap would cost me 12000
Actually not a dumb one, I believe a wrap is slighter lighter than paint, but I am not completely sure since paint job can vary in how many coats are used. I would also like to know a tested answer to that question.
Instead of wrapping, may I introduce you to a new way. It's called auto flex by a company here in Houston, the owner did plasti-dip before this. Supposedly, if it gets damaged,it can be cut and re-done without doing the whole car. I've been looking into it, but my truck is taking up my play money. https://www.pearlsandpigments.com/home.php, Good luck, L8R ZFLASH
Platidip, you can do your whole car for about $200 and a couple hours. My buddy did his GT-R in a pearl chameleon that looked amazing. I dipped my wheels over a year ago and they have held up great, too.
<edit> Yes, that is plasti dip shot from a Harbor Freight gun (self contained compressor) that was about $100.
