I love how you judge me with out even knowing why I was pulled over. What I did not mention is that the majority of the times were because the old car I had as my first had electrical problems. It seemed that I was getting stopped in some cases 2 times a week for the officer to let me know I had a light out that needed fixing. The others were mostly from speed 11-15 over. I am not even going to respond to the parents comment because it has no relevance to the conversation and you don't know me or my family and it is the least accurate part of your comment. Just curious etc have you ever been in a car accident or caused harm or damage to anyone or anything. I personally have not even been in one single accident and I have actually been able to avoid a few that would have been caused by others but I am a alert and aware of my surroundings. I am so happy there are people like you (et) in the world that are so perfect I mean if we believe all the bullshit that spewed out of your mouth you would know everything have every answer and be the only ont that ever was right. No its called warn-the-dope.. so maybe he will survive long enough to understand, you don't get targeted for doing nothing.. Mohammed Ali would turn over in his grave using one of his signature phases to explain why cops stop dopes.

The Children on this forum can not defend poor driving skills, poorly maintained cars and a lack of respect for the law..

I know If one of my children were stupid enough to air his stupidity in an on line forum , I would not be too proud of them either..
The OP said I don't know him... That's where he is wrong,,, Oh I know " Him" very well... Children who know it all, and are never at fault and are the victim of a conspiracy against him because he is young.. Being young and being stupid are not synonomous.

What children do not understand is they call it getting the ticket count up, which is a federal crime. The reality is when traffic violations trend to a pattern ( for example excessive speed ) Jurisdictions tell there officers to drop the over speed limit parameter from 20, to 8, making for more road side stops, and a police presence in an area where excessive speeding has been on a trend. same with aggressive driving , tailgating etc..
when a jurisdiction see as rise in this dangerous trend , they become more aggressive toward it.

This is how it really works.

When the speed limit is 55, that doesn't mean you can calculate what they allow and exceed that.. typically children or stupid drivers will add 15 or 20 over the posted limit , then bitch when they are ticketed for doing 70 in a 55 zone. This tight rein on speed is usually enforced after a traffic fatality in a certain patrol area. I get all of this information from My two Highway patrol State Police officers, both are now administration supervisors, and about to retire.

I will add something to the motor vehicle summons discussion. As a police supervisor and commander on a busy PD I can tell you that a great deal of the time when we detailed an Officer to selective enforcement, whether it is speeding, red light violations, blocking intersections in heavy traffic, or what have you, it was commonly at the request of the citizenry. We constantly received calls from residential homeowners asking that the police enforce speed limits in their neighborhoods. Churches and hospitals likewise requested motor vehicle enforcement in their areas as well to make their areas safer. Businesses also requested enforcement. When a motorist is stopped and summonsed for a violation it is very frequently at the request of his follow citizens who view said violations as a threat to the safety of neighborhood children, churchgoers, business patrons etc.. As police officers, a common line of thinking that is encountered when dealing with a violator is "I'm all for law enforcement, as long as it doesn't apply to me". Folks don't like to admit that, but its very common. Everyone please be safe and take care!

The problem is he is a wealth of knowledge and has been a great asset to the community but he at times like this let's his opinion skew his perception of the facts. If he would just scale his ego back to his knowledge level we would get along just fine

Here is the ultimate tutorial on how to put someone on ignore.

Go to your personal CP ( Control panel )
scroll down to " Edit Ignore list"
cut and paste ( use highlight and control V ) or control C and control V. Evil-Twin
to highlight a member screen name.
Paste that name into the active field
then hit OK
easy peasy.

Good point, but lets expand. How many times have you seen teachers with children out and go over and say thank you? Or how many men/women in arm forces have you said thank you to? Or how many nurses you see in a hospital visit you randomly say thank you to? Or how many city workers doing their job at night to repair water main breaks, gas leaks, road repairs? How many times have you seen workers picking up our garbage and trash and go over and say thank you. The list can go on and on and on. Thank you's are great but do not just limit them to police.

I got pulled over on a Saturday round the corners on a stretch of road by my old house. 65ish in a 50. As soon as I saw the state trooper turn around I pulled over. She asked why I was speeding and I said I enjoy going around those corners. She wrote me a warning and told me to slow down. Monday I get pulled over for 60 in a 50, I was out of town and really thought the speed limit was 60. Actually where I pulled over there was a huge sign in front of me where the speed limit changed from 50 to 60, lol. Trooper says he is going to write me a warning, comes back from his cruiser and says "Had I known you got a warning on Saturday I would have written you a ticket. But I said I would write you a warning so here it is." Stand up guy!
I've rarely had bad experiences with police. I've been pulled over quite a few times, sorry ET, I enjoy driving fast, but I'm always polite and take my lumps, pay the fine or whatever.

how do you pay back your family, if you are doing the twisties and you kill yourself or worse kill some innocent person. Don't tell me it don't happen.. it happens everyday by people who think they are good drivers... Good drivers don't get 2 warnings in One day, Don't you see that God is trying to tell you something.

You don't have to tell me you are sorry.... say that to the family of those you hurt.
Yeah I am preaching.. you see I've always tried to treat people here like my family, even if it includes tough love... Most who know me , know this is how I roll.,

I gave a guy a lot of crap the other day about getting under his car, when he clearly didn't know a wrench from a spatula ... I got a lot of flack about it from those who don't get the message.

Bill aka ET

Please use the ignore feature, no need to endure the mean and insensitive nature of a guy who lost his best friend to some ******* who thought he could take my friends life and get away with it..because he thought he was a good driver. Jim was a Young engineer under my wing who was in the wrong place at the wrong time.. Jim left a wife and two small kids

AS far as being intolerant to those who are obviously challenged by right and wrong, I take enough poison everyday so I can continue to help the thousand I have helped here over 16 years., PLEASE use the ignore. it will be good for you.

There are plenty of guys who are genuine assets to this forum. No need to take my abuse.. But if I see some ******* bragging about how immature they are about their driving skills. IM going to let them know how I feel about it... the smart children will take that advice..

I am sorry that that happend to Jim I obviously did not know him but it is a shame to see some one take another life for no reason.

I understand that this strikes a emotional chord with you and you have problems separating facts from opinions when your emotions are stirred up but you can't put everyone that has broken a traffic law in the same bucket as someone that drives outside of there level of control. NO I AM NOT SAYING THAT IT IS OK TO BREAK THE LAW JUST BECAUSE YOU MAY HAVE MORE SKILL THAN OTHERS but there are some people that are not even safe on the streets following the law. Knowing your surroundings capabilities and having self control is a huge factor here. If I am on a road in the middle of no where with no other traffic and obstacles in the way there is nothing wrong with stretching the cars legs a little bit. Then I really don't even want to get in to the subject of speed limit changes in areas for reasons other than safety like ticket revenue. There are countless roads in this country that have speed limits that are slower than they need to be and still be safe and there are countless roads that have speed limits that fluctuate multiple times in just a couple miles with no reason other than it being a speed trap. This country is money driven and many of its laws and regulations are made out of financial reasons more than safety. So do not drag someone through the mud when they may not be the person you are trying to paint them as.

No your comments do not hurt me they just are mostly annoying. I am not going to block you because I am not a snowflake that needs to hide from things I do not like. I respect your knowledge and strongly dislike your attitude. You remind me of a employee of mine good at what you do but when something strikes your emotions you loose track of the goal and become belligerent.

FWIW, I'm not a snowflake either. In fact, I served 22 years in the military. I chose to put ET on my ignore list because he can't refrain from being insulting. I don't care how much he knows about the C5, it just isn't worth all of his nastiness...believe it or not, it is possible to discuss things about the C5, and even disagree about things, without being rude, even if you only have basic social skills...ET doesn't even have that...

I bet you are the first one with a brink in front of the TV store in your own community to steal from your neighbor in the name of justice The first through the window.

Now you have me throwing a "brink" through store windows, participating in looting for the cause of social justice. All because I recognize there are some problems in policing. Laughable!

You don't know anything about me. If we were discussing Mike Brown of Ferguson, MO you might think I'm the biggest supporter of law enforcement. I'm fully aware of the important role police play in our society. I have great respect for those who choose the profession and do their jobs correctly. I will not be silent when some get away with trampling the rights of citizens.

The last thing I'll say on the subject. The military does a much better job rooting out and punishing its bad apples than police departments do. In large part because there is no power union in the military shielding the wrong doers.

I mentally thank the Maryland State Police when I drive through on the highway. There are a lot of them, and they set the de facto pace - usually about 85-90. Plus they clear the outside lane very effectively. You obviously have to keep a respectable distance behind them - you would not want to be too close anyway, as they never signal lane changes.

These guys are rushing to check out from their shift. I lived in 5 states other than MD and these guys are the worst. Going down I95 with signs saying no trucks over 2 towns allowed in 2 left hand lanes and there were a string of them doing that with a MDHWP several cars behind doing nothing. In order to get respect, you have to earn it like in any other job.

Note Mr. Rogers is like one of those kids who was so mentally challenged in school; and was left back a few times, only to be 3 years older than the other kids in his class and fifty pounds heavier.. so challenged as to point out an auto spell typo... " brink" most people with half a brain would know that it should have been brick, but you chose to show who you are JUST another insignificant person with small values and even less brains.
