Good luck getting your original wheel off. I do a lot of my own work, but paying a mechanic to remove my old wheel was WELL worth the money. It took 2 full grown men with a steering wheel puller, 2 screw drivers, and a small sledgehammer 45 minutes of pounding and prying to get my original wheel off. I know another forum member who finally gave up and just replaced his entire steering column in order to install his new steering wheel.

Between the price and the horror stories i read about removal/installation, i remain very hesitant to take the plunge.
At the same time, i hate how large the stock wheel is.... damn

just get a mechanic to do it ..I have no problem repairing/replacing just about anything, I didn't bother even attempting this.. brought to my mechanic in the morning, had a nice wheel on it in the afternoon, few hundred $$.

It might come to that before the end of 2023. We'll see how spring at summer goes!

Don't let that stop you. I have a great mechanic, and he charged me just under $100 to do it. There were no parts involved other than what I provided, and it took him 45 minutes to do the job. I was standing there watching while they did it, and I'm VERY glad I decided to let them do it for me. I LOVE my new wheel. Just take the horror stories as a lesson that there are some things that it's just better to let your mechanic do. I enjoy working on my car, but I would not have enjoyed doing that.

That's probably because it is not "too thick" at all 😁

Hope to show it installed in the car soon 🤩

Take care

In your case, if you do it for one car, you'll want to do it on all of them.

Probably, at least two of them. I told myself that I would not spend money on the black one upgrading it but here I am spending money on it. Just put new Continental Extreme Contact Sport tires on it, got the VetteLights fog lights and corner lights put in, and have KnightDrive headlights on the way for it. So much for not spending $ on it.

The tires don't count as they are a regular wear item. You had no choice. The car is black, so it has to have good lighting to be seen at night...totally reasonable. Before you know it, the black one will be winning trophies just like the other two.

Tell my wallet that Even at Discount tire with my military discount they were still $1,363.30 out the door. Sure, I could have found cheaper tires but I do push the limits of the car from time to time
The only way the black one could win a trophy is that no other cars showed up for the show The previous own was not nice to the car and the paint shows it. Still, I couldn't ask for a better daily driver. 528 rwhp and a nice loud stereo

Well, I think I can help you not to spend too much, at least on the steering wheels and other leather goodies 😁 Please message me for details whenever you're ready to upgrade the steering wheels in your Vettes and I'll be more than happy to get you a nice "wholesale" discount 😁🤩💥😎

Take care

To be honest you may be able to use one out if an HHRSS as mine had the same wheel as the ZR1. Good for the SS not good for the Z.

It might be just a bit thick for me. Would you be able to make one that is not as thick?
