I'd be surprised if they have a product in production before the end of the year. I hope they prove me wrong.

Final version of our Smaller Diameter steering wheel for Corvette C6!

It's almost 1" smaller (between 7/8" and 15/16" to be precise &#128540 than OEM wheel and this looks like the smallest diameter possible to keep the wheel functional and comfortable. Oh, and it is thicker and has thumbgrips as well 😁

It was test driven, works great and provides huge upgrade to the way the car feels, especially in tight corners 🤩💥🤘

And a comparison of smaller vs OEM:

And guess what! YES, now that the 6 project is completed, we've started working on SMALLER STEERING WHEEL FOR C5!!! . It will probably be available within around 2 months 🤩💥🤘😎

Have a great weekend everyone!

Take care

We're currently working on it, the first prototype should be ready around mid-November - if testing works well, we'll make mold and first ready wheels should be completed and shipped in time for Your Christmas socks 🤩

Well, so it has actually just happened 🤩

I know I promised to have it ready before end of last year and some of you probably expected it to be your Christmas gift but this turned out to be much more complicated than it initially seemed to be.

But we have finally overcome all the issues we came across along the way and HERE IT IS - our Smaller Diameter steering wheel for C5 🤩💥🔥😎😁

It's 355mm in diameter - similar to many racing steering wheels - a little over 1 inch smaller than the original steering wheel - that's the most we could reduce the diameter while keeping the steering wheel comfortable to drive with and still use the original airbag

Oh, and it's significantly thicker as well - as you can see 🤩

So, what do you think, guys? Was it worth working on for a few years? I apologize for not showing in-car pics but my 50th Anniv decided to not be of assistance 🤪 and I'm experiencing a common steering wheel removal issue - looks like I'm going to have to cut my original steering wheel off...

But anyway - The new, small diameter steering wheel is now available via our Corvette C5 Steering wheel page

And now THE BEST PART - retail price is $895 but to show our gratitude to Corvetteforum members who have been supporting us ever since we became a vendor here, we're offering this steering wheel to YOU at $100 LESS! And another $100 will be given to you as a REFUND once you publish photos of your smaller steering wheel installed in your Vette on forums / facebook / instagram / or wherever you show off your ride!

So if you want a smaller diameter steering wheel for your C5 for $200 LESS please let me know! This deal is for the first 10 customers! Who's first? 😁

Take care

Looks like the wheel got stung by a bee. Fat looking, not a fan.

Yes, it does look a littel fat in the pictures but thanks to its thickness it is very comfortable to hold.

But to each their own, as they say, there's no obligation to like it

Looks like I was spot on as far as the timing of this. Congrats on getting it finished though. I'm always glad to see new products available for the C5. I know there has been a lot of interest in smaller diameter wheels. I certainly would have been a buyer at that price if you had them a year and a half ago. At this point however, I'm very happy with my expensive carbon fiber wheel.

I do think that your new wheel is a bit too thick. if it was a little thinner, there would be more room for your hands especially at the 4 o'clock and 8 o'clock positions. Overall though, I think you guys did a great job overcoming the many challenges involved with this project. Cheers

If you're interested in checking the colormatching yourself, we're willing to sell this prototype wheel for even lower price! Like $750 shipped! And the $100 REFUND upon photos will still be valid of course!

Please message me if you're interested in doing this

Of course! Send me your address and I'll send you a swatch of this leather. The photos actually show the original 50th Anniv airbag from my own Vette so you can already see whether or not this color is close enough for you

Once I defeat my steering wheel spline now wanting to release the original wheel, I'll gladly show how the wheel looks in the car 😁

You may be right BUT even if we kept the original thickness, there would be no room at 4 o'clock adn 8 o'clock positions to comfortably slide your fingers in there - not with the 355mm diameter of the steering wheel. As for the thickness itself - I admit it may look a little too much in those photos but this is mainly due to chenged proportions I think - I don't have big hands myself and the thicknes of this steering wheel is just right for me - super nice to hold, much more comfortable than bus-size stock wheel 😁

Anyway, The first batch of those steering wheel is in production currently - once they arrive to their new owners we'll carefully listen to Your feedback and make revisions if you feel they are necessary.

In the meantime I'll do my best to install it in my car soon so that you can see the wheel in its natural habitat 🤩
