And yes, the $750 GroupBuy price for the first 10 wheels is still open

Jack, I must have missed it, but can you post pictures and dimensions of the prototype wheel? Thanks

I'd also be interested to know how the smaller wheel affects the driver's view of the gauges once it's mocked up.

I'm totally in for this. How do we go about getting the $750 deal? Do we order through the site?

You will soon know everything - the first prototype has already been delivered to the owner - I sincerely hope to see it installed in his car soon and hear his feedback

Take care

Smaller metal core is now ready was shipped to the fabricator last week to build rubber overlay on it. I sincerely hopee to be able to show you the prototype wrapped in leather no later than mid-August.

Do you know what the dia will be? Previous posts say approx 355. OE is 385. I starting to think 355 might look out of place on a C5. The sweet spot is more like 360-365 IMO. Please provide an accurate size asap.

Hi

We're actually stil working on fine tuning the C6 prototype - first drives showed that there are still some issues with airbag and plastic trims fitment. Everything works, including airbag mounts and connectors as well as all contriol buttons. After a few prototypes, we're now working with the fabricator on adjusting the mold so that fitment is perfect and everything sits flush. I whink we need a few weeks until we're ready to provide a 100% perfect product.

In the meantime - a few photos from first test drives:

Please remain patient guys, we really prefer to spend more time on R&D than provide you with sub-par product too fast.

I'll be posting results as they come for sure!

Take care

We’re still struggling to obtain perfect result – looks like I was way too optimistic about this project at the beginning...

We’ve made a few quite good prototypes but “quite good” not quite what we want to deliver. Looks like fine tuning will take a few more weeks so I’m afraid I need you guys to stretch your patience a little more.

Take care

Any chance you guys would mod Nardi Dish steering wheel and make it fatter, then rewrap it with yellow stitch? No custom shaping, just a nice, fatter rim more like the current wheels, then some soft stuff.

Pic for ref of my wheel:

Liked the small c6 wheel and am still hoping for an even smaller c5 wheel -
I’ve noticed That flat-bottom c5 is available, but i’m Holding out for an inch or two round c5.

It just takes much more time than we initially expected to make sure we will provide a wheel than will not only be smaller but also fully functional, comfortable and SAFE for you.

But it looks like we're getting closer - we're now in the process of 3D printing the prototypes and fine tuning the shape and spoke ends where the rim meets the airbag cover:

What do you think? Hope to have some more good news soon

Take care

I figured you guys would have to spend some effort on the spokes...the airbag is massive when compared to a 350mm steering wheel. Honestly, these prototypes look better than I thought possible! You guys are on the right track as far as I'm concerned.

The spacing between the airbag housing and the wheel looks pretty close in spots. Wondering how this would work on a track with gloves. How much clearance is in there? The first and second pics make it look pretty tight, but the last two look better. Just hard to tell from the pics. I might be able to shave a little off the housing in these areas.
