What voltage on the DIC do you get when the car is running? It should be at least 13.5-14.5V.
A fully charged battery at rest should read 12.6-12.8V. The DIC will read a little low, (maybe 0.3-0.5V low), but shouldn't be 1.0 V low.
You can get a cheapo voltmeter (multimeter) at many places. like Harbor Freight or any of the auto stores or Walmart for $5-6 and it's very simple to use. Measure the voltage at the battery terminals, not with the DIC. If you want to be even more accurate. measure it with one of the battery leads disconnected.
And glad you installed the LMC5, that will save you a whole lot of future grief and hopefully it will solve this error message problem, but be ware it can occur from low battery voltage like a lot of other computer messages that may appear with low voltage.

I drove the car several hours this morning, it has been sitting for 3 hours- checked the prestart voltage via the DIC- showed 12. After starting 14.1
You can't go by the DIC for voltage with key on engine off. Check at the battery. There are many great threads on all of this. I believe you'll see about .3V drop form the battery to the DIC.
A fully charged battery is 12.6 (they will show 12.9 to 13 but that is before they are loaded) You have to load a battery after charging it to remove the surface charge. This is as simple as turning on the lights for 30 seconds.
Once you key on - engine off, there are many tings taking power from the battery and seeing 12.5-12.2 at the battery with key on engine off and 12.0 12.2 at the DIC would not surprise me.

They are manufactured in Missouri by Enersys, Co.. Odysseys are available through a number of different retailers including Amazon, Summit, Jegs, etc.
HTH
I've checked around and my local Autozone carries Odyssey batteries. If they don't have it in stock, they can order it. I was quoted $239.99 for on Odyssey 75-PC1230, which is specified for my 2001. The dual post 75/86-PC1230 will also fit.
When I uncover the Vette in April, this is the route I will probably go!
