Maybe we don't all search as effectively as we could, and maybe some do want to be spoon fed information. None the less, people who complain about those who haven't searched successfully generally know the jist just from the thread title, and then spend time and band width to make a big deal about it. Save the time and band width.
That's what I don't get. If it's an old thread, or something that's been beaten to death, why waste your time posting in the thread? If you're not interested, just move on...
"This is an excellent free source for the highest quality information available, on EVERYTHING Corvette related, from show cars, to race cars. Everyone here is an enthusiast, so we all have at least something in common. That is really what people have to remember I think the most; we all have this wonderful thing in common."
I couldn't agree more. ;^)
The members of CF have provided me with tons of useful info over the past dozen years and two C5s. I try to help when I can.
Thanks for being so transparent about your own humanity.
I think it is valuable for those with questions to be told that there is a way to dig info out using the forum resources. In the era of Googly and the inter-webz it seems that everyone figures they should be able to ask Alexa what shoes to wear today, etc. and get a good answer.
Something that puzzles me is the way some newbies argue with the exact person that gives them an answer.
And to counter your original complaint - could one give a better answer to certain questions (example - glass coming loose from convertible top) than what has already been posted?
So don't be so critical of those of us who tend to be critical.
This thread fails to live up to it's name because it is now Sunday, not Friday.
And... knewblewkorvette, your Vette would look a lot better if it had Chrome, Black powdercoated, or maybe even Wagon-wheels. And hashmarks would REALLY make it pop!!! I'm glad you came to this forum for advice, because you will find no shortage of opinions here. And my opinion is that ALL Vettes are should be Torch Red.
It's a forum. You take the good with the bad, weed your way through the plethora of information available on here, ask any question you want whether covered a million times or not once, but be prepared for the answer based on what the question is about, esp. when it comes to the repetitive stuff. If you do some of your own due diligence and utilize logical thinking, you can find answers to anything on here without posting a new thread but what keeps a forum like this going is the interaction of novices, experts, and everyone in between. Grow some thick skin and jump right in!

I kind of agree. There's only so much that you can talk about on here before it starts to come around again. Just like clothes from the 70's! In a way it's a good thing. (not the 70's clothes thing) Without these forums who would have learned about the ongoing problems we have with these vettes? Rocking seats, passenger window problems, water udders, 04 fuel tank problems, 97-00 computer problems, pull key and wait 2 minutes, etc. So sometimes we can learn stuff when it comes up over and over again. At least in the last 21 years we know what the main gremlins are with these cars. I kind of miss the crappy cup holder complaints from years ago, though. But I know one thing still remains true, even on here. DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ ON THE INTERNET!
The worst forum I have been a part of was the E46 BMW forum. Although, they had lots of good info most of the more frequent posters were rude and turned a lot of new members/posters off. The information and the people of CF are great and saints by comparison.
