I've been fairly active on the forum for about a year now since buying my first Vette. One thing though ticks me off to no end.
Scenario 1
1. A newbie asks a question.
2. Some self righteous *** makes the comment 'use the search function'
Scenario 2
1. Newbie uses search function and comments.
2. Some self righteous *** makes the comment 'way to resurrect a 10 year old thread'!
There is little doubt that virtually every scenario has been discussed in this forum in one post or another. I don't see the need to snark down a newbie who just signs up because he has a problem with his oil pressure gauge. I think we can all be honest and say the 'search function' on the forum is fair at best anyway.

Seriously, how hard is it to figure out that if the A/C mode switch isn't having an effect, your vacuum line is broken or missing. Passenger side is hot while driver is cold? Blend door actuator. A/C won't engage, or light flashes and then goes out? You can invest in gages, etc., to troubleshoot, but any A/C shop will check the system for a very nominal fee.
