Wow! I have a stock shift lever (what you have showed) that I bought for $100 on eBay but wound up not using. If you want it, I’ll let it go for what I paid. Let me know.
Thanks, but I cut the mangled part off and threaded it down to the insulator, and added a Hurst black cue ball shift ****. I had bought a TPS modded C6 shifter, but did not like where the **** landed - further back than the C5, as I believe the driver sits slightly further back in the C6, so I rebuilt the C5 original and modded it as described. I really like the result.
So I dare say you're in the market for a new shift shaft. Used OEM should be very, very reasonable. Take a gander at the TDOM offering on the parts for sale page: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-boxes-11.html
I've seen all the video's on replacing the shifter and that may be my last resort, I have some time this weekend and it's supposed to be on the 50-60's , so my last idea was to cut notches on each side of the key, and try to pry it out, ya never know - I'll update this topic and let you know
no pictures yet, still working off the holiday's

I'll let you know, this weekend I'm gonna work on it some more, I see how easy they are to replace, nothing like the shifters from the 60's and 70's
I tried all the suggested things to do, vice grips and screw drivers to pry it. wouldn't budge. What did work was using two paint can openers, one on each side, popped right out. Go figure
