C5-->C7 Butt
I can't even come close to affording one, but that doesn't have anything to do with not liking the design (particularly the rear).
I can't afford a Ferrari or Lambo, or a new Jag SUV for my wife either. But I'll openly admit I think they're crazy nice.

I love my C-5 ***, and my C-7s
I believe a lot of folks that "hate" the C-7 can't swing the $$$$$ to buy one
Now that's just a douchey thing to say.

My wife drives a Rogue, which we both think is the nicest reasonably priced SUV.
My daily is my Z spring, summer and fall. Right now, it's a minivan. LOL
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
That backend end is not exactly flattering to the C5, I don’t understand the swap, should of swapped the motor not body panels. I dont think anyone would have a problem with that........well maybe one person

I don't hate the C7, I just would not spend my $$$$ on a car I don't like the look of, whether it's a Vette or whatever. Same reason the current Lexus sedans were off my list when it came to a new "family" car - those things have some of the worst front end/grille treatments I have ever seen. Looks like they bolted a Darth Vader mask on the front, IMO.
I think the C5 is one of the sexiest, best bang for your buck, sports car on the road today...period. Is it the BEST? Nope - not even close but it sure is one hell of a car to drive/own. However, like all models of cars, they improve with each new model year. You may like a C5 better than a C6, you may or may not like the looks of a C7...but no one can argue that they dont IMPROVE over time.
With that said, I think the C6 is WAY too close in styling to a C5 to spend the extra money. Now again, I got the C6 for my fiance for her 50th BDay... Its an AWESOME car...but the interior is just horribly bland when compared to the C5 or C7. To me there is nothing to the interior at all...but I do like many of the improvements made with the HP, handling, electronics, etc. She absolutely loves it and that's all that matters to me.
When it comes to the C7...well, you may or may not like the look of it...but if you drove it...boy o boy would you be hooked. The cockpit is like a jet - it just hugs you but not too much (like a C4). The electronics and the things you can do when changing modes from ECO, Touring, Sport and Track are just amazing. You can tighten the suspension and steering and loudness of the exhaust with the turn of a dial...amazing. Im not here to say who can and cant afford it - thats none of my business - but if you ever have the chance to take one out for a spin...be careful, because I promise you...after you get out of the car...you will be heading to a bank for an auto loan...which is exactly what happened to me.

However, I prefer to keep them separate.

A car has to look nice also. You are obviously a Corvette fan having owned a few. I have owned one, this one. I am a car fan, but not necessarily a Corvette fan.
I promise you, a C7 will never reside in my garage because it doesn't fit my fancy. If I had the money, something else would sit there (or maybe just still my C5Z, and buy something cool for my wife).
My favorite garage eye candy has always been a convertible C2. And even though I'm only in my 40s I grew up tinkering with 1960s cars (has anyone seen my 1969 Camaro? I'd like to buy it back). I got that from my dad. But, at 6'4" my left knee hits the steering wheel when shifting and I drive my toys, so I had to pass on the classic. But seriously, look at this thing...
