Methinks you are wrong (although I might be, uh, wrong). I think most who say they don't like the C7 simply don't like the C7.
I can't even come close to affording one, but that doesn't have anything to do with not liking the design (particularly the rear).
I can't afford a Ferrari or Lambo, or a new Jag SUV for my wife either. But I'll openly admit I think they're crazy nice.

It took me a while to warm up to the C-7. But the C-7 rear fascia on the C-5? Its like putting a mustache on the Mona Lisa!!!!

Take a C5 put C6 headlights on it then put a C7 rear, then you have all 3 generations....

I don’t like anything about the C7s styling, to me it just doesn’t look like a Corvette. I’ve got a 63 and a 2002, if I wanted a C7 I’d get one. I bought a C5 because I think it’s the best looking “modern” Corvette.

Now that's just a douchey thing to say.

I have to agree on the Jag SUV. The sexiest SUV on the road IMO, and my daily driver.

Nice! It is absolutely. Range Rover used to rule that roost, not anymore IMO.
My wife drives a Rogue, which we both think is the nicest reasonably priced SUV.
My daily is my Z spring, summer and fall. Right now, it's a minivan. LOL

C7 wide body is a absolute awesome looking car IMO so is the C6 WB. In standard body I think the C5 is nicer looking.......but what do I know, I like the FRC much better than the coup.

That backend end is not exactly flattering to the C5, I don’t understand the swap, should of swapped the motor not body panels. I dont think anyone would have a problem with that........well maybe one person

I don't hate the C7, I just would not spend my $$$$ on a car I don't like the look of, whether it's a Vette or whatever. Same reason the current Lexus sedans were off my list when it came to a new "family" car - those things have some of the worst front end/grille treatments I have ever seen. Looks like they bolted a Darth Vader mask on the front, IMO.
The C7 is too transformer-ish looking for me...it's all angles and sharp corners, whereas the C5 is more curvy and elegant looking...sort of like a woman...

Its so funny reading one post in the C5 section, where they talk about the C7, and the overall reactions. Then the EXACT same topic is covered in the C7 section the replies are 180 degrees different. Ive owned a 92, a 94, 02 Vert and currently own a 05 C6 and a 14 C7...so I think Im able to toss my hat into the ring and be honest.

I think the C5 is one of the sexiest, best bang for your buck, sports car on the road today...period. Is it the BEST? Nope - not even close but it sure is one hell of a car to drive/own. However, like all models of cars, they improve with each new model year. You may like a C5 better than a C6, you may or may not like the looks of a C7...but no one can argue that they dont IMPROVE over time.

With that said, I think the C6 is WAY too close in styling to a C5 to spend the extra money. Now again, I got the C6 for my fiance for her 50th BDay... Its an AWESOME car...but the interior is just horribly bland when compared to the C5 or C7. To me there is nothing to the interior at all...but I do like many of the improvements made with the HP, handling, electronics, etc. She absolutely loves it and that's all that matters to me.

When it comes to the C7...well, you may or may not like the look of it...but if you drove it...boy o boy would you be hooked. The cockpit is like a jet - it just hugs you but not too much (like a C4). The electronics and the things you can do when changing modes from ECO, Touring, Sport and Track are just amazing. You can tighten the suspension and steering and loudness of the exhaust with the turn of a dial...amazing. Im not here to say who can and cant afford it - thats none of my business - but if you ever have the chance to take one out for a spin...be careful, because I promise you...after you get out of the car...you will be heading to a bank for an auto loan...which is exactly what happened to me.

Hard to argue that the C7 interior doesn't knock your socks off... Love or hate the C7 - you have to respect the vast amount of improvements they introduced:

I've never been a fan of "Frankenvettes" that mix generational components. The C5 is great because it has C5 lines and the C7 is great because it has C7 lines. Both inside and out. Interior wise, I think the C7 is similar in design to the C5, but has a more C4-inspired wrap-around driver's cockpit.

However, I prefer to keep them separate.

I agree, to me it looks like a modern evolution of the c5 interior.

Sorry, a blanket statement like that doesn't work... maybe for you.
A car has to look nice also. You are obviously a Corvette fan having owned a few. I have owned one, this one. I am a car fan, but not necessarily a Corvette fan.
I promise you, a C7 will never reside in my garage because it doesn't fit my fancy. If I had the money, something else would sit there (or maybe just still my C5Z, and buy something cool for my wife).

If you want to make your C5 a C7, convert interior, not the rear end...

I don't think there's any doubt they've improved over time, and the newer models drive/perform better than the older models. Hell, they make improvements during the model run. I know many drives these car daily but to me, these cars are eye candy toys. I often silently giggle doing a double take walking past it in the garage. I simple prefer the smooth flowy lines of the C5; I think more now then when I bought it. No doubt the C7 drives easier and has far superior creature comforts, but that's not the issue. At least, not for me.

My favorite garage eye candy has always been a convertible C2. And even though I'm only in my 40s I grew up tinkering with 1960s cars (has anyone seen my 1969 Camaro? I'd like to buy it back). I got that from my dad. But, at 6'4" my left knee hits the steering wheel when shifting and I drive my toys, so I had to pass on the classic. But seriously, look at this thing...

I don't mind the C-7 buttocks, but it's definitely not the cars best feature. It almost seems like the design team couldn't agree, so they gave all of them a little part of it, whereas the C5 fanny is sublime.

Why does it always seem folks say that those who don't like the C7 looks, probably can't afford one? And, what does it really matter? I think they're a great car, I just don't like the way they look. I won't say I won't own one, even new, but it's going to take a pretty healthy closeout special w/0% financing to get me to buy a car I really don't like the looks of. And I'm pretty sure affordability isn't going to be an issue.
