Default C5-->C7 Butt

I was doing some research on a new rear facia for my C7. By mere glance, I caught this picture. Curious - more search led to a 2016 article Dress your C5 with a C7 booty. (before posting, I did a search and have not seen this, sorry if a repeat). I'd have to see more pictures. Not sure what to think.

(something's up with attachments...can't upload pic ... see link)

Horrible. Take the worst part of the C7, the part that IMO makes the C7 un-buyable, and throw it on a C5?!? Yikes.
No offense, obviously you like the car, but you did post on the C5 forum...

Ahh, it's all good. I'm not exactly a fan of the C7 butt either. I love the C6 *** though. That's what I went to buy. It was the driveability of the C7 that sold me. I'd argue unbuyable, but hey, you do drive a C5...

I just don't think it flows with the rest of the car at all. The C7 is all hard angles and lines, while the C5 is smooth and curvy. It would need a full body kit of some sort to compliment it.

To me when I see guys putting C5 wheels on a C4 or C7 headlights on a C6 - I literally want to vomit. It looks so stupid when a C4 has wheels with C5 logos on them... Now they offer entire body panels from other generations? OMG - just buy a C7 if you want the look of a C7...Don't cross the flags...just my .02 cents.

I agree that the C5 looks much better with the C5 rear fascia on it. The C7 rear end looks good on the C7. But, different tastes for different folks.

I think the opposite should occur. Make a kit that put the C5 'butt' on a C7. Then maybe I would consider a C7 but only if they made a kit to hide the headlights.

I saw a C5 with a C7 rear at Carlisle 2 years ago. Job was really well done, can't say it was a complete abortion, but just why? If you mow the neighbors grass for $10/hr for the time you have in that meth-crazed mod, you could buy a C7...

No offense, but why would anyone want to make a C5 look anything like a C7? The C5 is by far the better looking car in every aspect, IMO...

Between the C6 and the C7, the C6 *** is the only aspect of either model I like better than anything on the C5...

Well sure I drive a C5, this is the C5 forum. Everyone here (well, except 2) drives one, otherwise why would we be here?

Don't know if I would go that far. They're both beautiful in their own way. But then, so are Jennifer Aniston and Halle Berry...swap their faces and it's just going to look wrong. It's the complete out of context swapping of a major body panel that offends my eyes. They're speaking two entirely different design languages.

Well they put California plates on it, so that should explain everything.

I love my C-5 ***, and my C-7s
I believe a lot of folks that "hate" the C-7 can't swing the $$$$$ to buy one

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and all that.

I don't hate the C7, I just would not spend my $$$$ on a car I don't like the look of, whether it's a Vette or whatever. Same reason the current Lexus sedans were off my list when it came to a new "family" car - those things have some of the worst front end/grille treatments I have ever seen. Looks like they bolted a Darth Vader mask on the front, IMO.

Yeah, with a full shot of that blue one above. No, I don't think so. I've been seeing folks want to go C7-->C6 rear, but even that doesn't work out right either. I'm mixed on my C7 rear, but I can't see it going on another MY. Thx Y'all. Sorry for buttin' in the C5 area. I just didn't know if it was a thing. Apparently not.
