It's alive here in Omaha, but I don't get a 100% return. Some may not be looking, while others may have never been educated on the tradition. And I'm sure there are some that just choose to abstain.
No matter to me, I'll always acknowledge another Vette owner when/if I see them.
back last April when I was driving home from the dealer right after buying my C7, on a deserted back road I was taking, low and behold a C7 passes me in the other lane, I saw the wave but was ignorant as to what it meant. not now!
When I've been out, whether in my 92 I previously had or in my 03, I almost always get a wave. Once passed another Z06 near Haskins and we both stuck our arms clear out the window to wave.
I have a c7 and I wave every time I can, although with tinted windows nobody can see me except out the front. My wife thinks I am crazy but if I see a vette of any generation getting gas or at a store I try and park near so I can meet them or talk about the car. But, that is just cause I have loved these cars since I rode in my neighbors 67 as a 12 yr old. That being said, not a whole lot of waving in S-west Mo.
I always wave at any Corvette I see here in NW Ohio. Far more often than not, they smile and wave back. This is a picture I took of a poster in the National Corvette Museum.
I see lots of Corvettes and have given plenty of waves...all have gone unanswered. When I owned a Wrangler, I always got the Jeep wave ( palm forward without taking your hand off the wheel). I see Harley riders doing the wave (nonchalant under-the-bars). Never seen the corvette wave. C2-C7, young or old...doesn't matter.
So what say you, Vette people? Do you often give/get the wave? Is there a special wave that I'm just missing?
keep waving. with how shallow and anti-personnel people have become...it's nice to just be kind from time to time. Shocks the SH*T outta people.
In the Houston area waves are running at about 90% for me. I would say that's pretty good considering the number that are around here. I see multiple Vettes just about every day.
No matter what I drive i get hand thrown up about half the time ,it’s small town howdy neighbor here but I’m 30-40 miles from any where with population over 12000
My wife owns a Wrangler Unlimited also & the Jeep wave is much more prevalent, however, we also pass by Jeeps in probably a 100:1 ratio to Vettes. My youngest son & I took the GS out yesterday for a nice long drive. Saw 5 other Vettes (1 C3 convertible, 2 C7 Z06s, 1 C7 Stingray & a C4) only 1 of the C7 Zs & the C4 returned the wave.
I was always looking for a wave back, not any more. I wave and don't look too see if they wave back. I even wave when I'm not in the Vette. Maybe its the corvette I'm waving at and not the driver.
