I have an '02 EB coupe and an '11 TR GS coupe. Both have a few tasteful mods (wheels, brakes, etc). The main comment I get is 'beautiful car!' From time to time, someone will ask .... 'why two?' 'Because I love them .... and I can!' End of conversation.
A friend of my ex wife said this to me & I told her this car isn't made for large women...…..Then I stared at her Needless to say her fat azz & the ex wife are history now. New wife loves the car and all hotrods and said we can get a new C7 if I want too. I told her I am quite happy with the C5. She really is a good girl & a great wife!
Quoting me in a car article in the Cincinnati Enquirer 15 years ago, "I don't know why they call it a mid-life crisis. I'm having a great time!"

I was once talking to a teen who complained "Why don't they make Corvettes affordable so I can buy one?"
My reply, "If they made Corvettes affordable to teenagers, we'd have a lot more dead teenagers."

Bought my first Corvette when I was 48. I just bought another. I'm 68.
I’m the same. Some people have said that to me as well. Bought mine new at 20. 😂
I never thought that my Vette was a mid life crisis,I thought it was a better idea to educate my kids and take care of my family first. So that’s why so many guys get Vettes later in life.

Bought mine when I was 25. If that is my mid way point I better start to live more dangerously or can my second corvette purchase when I am older count as my mid life point
As I got out of the Corvette this morning, I heard someone yelling something, it's a woman I have talked to a few times, she repeated it "that's totally not a midlife crisis car!!"

That’s my story. I’ve practically waited until the 2 minute warning of the 3rd quarter, 4th down with 20yds to go. You guessed it. I stepped back and punted! The 4th quarter is looking real good! Drive on!

I said no, bought it when I was 25, 41 now. Haha
She was probably just admiring the car and having a little fun with you.
I know that the phrase "mid life crisis" is well established. But I never really bought in to the "crisis" part of it.
Sure, some folks dread turning 40 or 50 ... whatever midlife is these days... but for me the things I did (and continue to do now at 58) are because I CAN do them. Not because I feel I'm in a crisis and HAVE to do them.
So when someone once asked me if my Vette was my "midlife crisis car", I chuckled and responded, "nah...it's really more like my midlife celebration car!"
