I never thought that my Vette was a mid life crisis,I thought it was a better idea to educate my kids and take care of my family first. So that’s why so many guys get Vettes later in life.
^^^^^ Exactly! I was a teenager when the C2 came out . Would have loved one but college and other things came first. Wasn't crazy about C3 & 4. When C5 came out I fell in love. But had 3 kids to educate. I finally bought an '02 in 2006 after my youngest graduated from college. Sold it for an '11 GS. Recently went back and bought another '02 to keep the '11 company. No crisis .... just enjoy the cars .... and I can afford them at this stage of my life.
Throughout my life and ownership of many different performance cars I have occasion ally heard snide comments. Not just regarding Corvettes (I've had a number of them) but with any number of other cars as well. I was involved with Porches for quite a long time and got the same type remarks occasionally, not only from strangers but also from folks I knew. If I responded to them at all it was usually along the lines of "I buy and drive what pleases me and not for your approval or disapproval". I could give a rats *** what other people think. I worked my entire life, never took a penny from anyone or any government program, always paid my own way. I've earned the right to do what pleases me. If some people don't like that, well, at my age I can be a lot more direct about what they can do with their opinions. Best wishes to all!
Okay, you got me, I want to relive my youthful days busting my butt in two jobs just to make ends meet, (and they never seemed to)! I want to go back to the glory of kids in diapers, teething pains, and potty training. I want to feel the adrenaline rush of signing that 30 yr mortgage note at (expletive deleted) percent interest!
Mid-life crisis? The "crisis" was a daily event up until now;
NOW life is much more fun, and I can actually afford toys like this Corvette.
Mid-life celebration is indeed my reason!
Have fun driving your Honda Odyssey and don't forget the anchor locks for the car seats!
I think it is funny when you hear something like that especially since I am 68 years old. People don't know that I purchased my first Corvette a '67 Vert. way back in 1970 when it was 3 years old and have owned at least 1 Vette for every year since. Actually in 2020 when the C8 Corvette comes out it will be 50 years for me of driving and owning a Corvette. Let them put that in their pipe and smoke it I say.
