The 2014 C7 had the pretty reliable 6-speed auto transmission more or less carried over from the C6. The subsequent model years of the C7 had the problematic 8-speed auto transmission.

Well, I would like to add my 2 cents worth. I love my C5, it is not going anywhere. My C3, is not leaving either. The C8 is intriguing, but like several have said it looks like a Euro copy. When I buy my next Vette and I will, it will be a C1. I would not buy the first year production either, for all the same reasons as others. I do think next year will be a good year to buy a C7 if you want one. I also think the C6 ZR1, will be the king of the hill for front engine cars. The C8 is totally different from any other Vette, you either love it, hate it or don’t care one way or the other.
