I knew that the minute you drove it away.. I'm still having emotional stress over it, Not that it did not go to the best possible home. But because my vision and dna is in that car. It remains a very beautiful car in its present form..

Because the C5 is not quite old enough to be considered a classic. C4 and C6 owners are the same. To me the C4 and C6 aren't holding their appeal as much as the C5 and C7. Maybe I just like odd numbers because I'm a big fan of the C3 (up until 1973) as well.

Agree with the c4. I think the c6 is holding its value. Four years go when i was looking for a c5 or c6 the z06's seem to be close to the same price today as back then.

Dated? I prefer to consider it a “modernized classic” sports car.

The C5 has beautiful lines and I still enjoy driving mine on a regular basis. I feel I improved on the original design by modernizing the interior, electronics, lighting, and performance. It’s not the fire breather like my C7Z, but it still turns heads.

Yes it feels dated in that the interior is the same kind of feel as any early 2000's chevy. But looks wise it has a classic shape. and driver wise, it's very analog.

I hate the C6 looks and how they kind of feel like a boat. The c7's aren't really all that to me. And maybe i'll buy a C8 one day, who knows. But this car just feels right in every way. Just enough tech with the transaxle and stuff but not so much that it feels disconnected.
I dig that. Very nice.

Compared to the C4 I had the 5 is much better in so many ways. Not that I don't like the 4..mine was pretty beat and took me a long time to make it drive able. But it doesn't compare to my 99.

Of course it feels dated. It's 15+ years old. I drive my wife's 2019 Veloster and it's miles ahead in design and function. But which do I prefer to drive? No contest, the C5. I guess I'm dated too.

I saw one last night, from that perfect angle (back of the car, looking at it from the side corner, forward) and it's a fantastic looking car. Sort of reminds me of a Ferrari and honestly from that angle I think of all the previous 'Vetts, it might resemble the new 'Vette the most???

It is very dated, but I remember when it debuted and how much excitement it generated over the C4. I don't own a C5, but I still think they are a great example of the rebirth of the American muscle car along with the T/A and Camaro of the same era. The LS1 was a game changer and has become the transplant motor of choice for cheap, reliable performance out of the box. I may be the minority, but I am not a fan of the C8 and not a big fan of the C7 either. I plan to keep my C6 for a very long time. The C5 and C6 have modern lines, decent creature comforts, while retaining the American muscle look of the Corvette. The C7 and C8 are more European looking and a departure from the days of old (my opinion). Change is great for some, but my playlist is still 70's and 80's music, so I will just hang out in the past and enjoy what I enjoy.

Still love my 2000 Mag Red,Oak,Oak convertible. It will be 20 years old Friday. I have had C6s and own a DSOM C7 which I love also. Sometimes when I start using the C5 I stick to it for weeks at a time. Love that car. It feels like it was custom made for me. Fits like a glove. It's been a great car and a joy to drive. Dated a little but it still gets the looks it did 20 years ago plus still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.
