Here's what William told me about the swap, Wes.
"I interfaced my seat control module from the C5 to the motors on the C7 seat as I did not receive the C7 control units. They stayed with the other original car. The layout of the C5 and C7 are almost identical as it pertains to motor function.. once I determined what went up and down and back and forth.. I simply spliced my control into the appropriate places In the seats stock harness.. It really wasn’t so difficult and I needed to figure it out anyways because as you know.. you need to move the seat forward to reach the back bolts.. a little time with a 12v battery and I quickly figured out how the seat worked and then matched that to the stock control unit."
Yep, not difficult. I'd pull the wires out of harness plugs and rewire that way rather than splice it but, same thing
Finally, been waiting since the C7 came out. Looks good, they match Torch Red or Mod Red well? Looks like he has a Mod Red interior.
Is there any weight savings?

i'd guess something customized for looks only (look at the c7 interiors at carvaggio website, for example), or task-specific (racing). c7 seats are really, really nice.

He says his interior is Torch Red and came out of a 2003 Z06. Was Torch Red available in C5Z interiors? I've never seen one.
edit: Black and Mod Red were the only interior colors offered on 2001-2004 Z06's.
I’m about to pick up a set of c7 seats today to put in a c5 did he say anything about having to modifications for them to physically fit or just electrically? I’m not worried about getting them powered I can figure that out more about if they will physically fit.

Seats bolt right in and fit fine, just need to do a little re-pinning on the connector, as he mentioned.
The C7 seats are alot better than C6 ? or C6 GS seats ?
C7 competition seats are about 200 years a head of previous generation vette seats.
with micro suede I would say it’s as good if. Not better than recaro seats.
I’ve purchased a set of C7 seats for my C5 but I just ran across a thread from a few years ago that mentioned they won’t fit in a C5 due the width as well as the larger/thicker back. I’m confused now.

Obviously, they were wrong. C7 seats will fit fine in a C5.
