Here's a few photos of a friend's very nice 1997, that he installed C7 Z06 seats in. I'm hoping William will write up a short article for us on the conversion, with photos and videos.
Supposedly, it is not a difficult swap, at all, and those Red seats are practically a perfect match for a Torch Red interior.

Those C7 seats look right at home in a C5, very good fit IMO. It's great to know that another option has become available with the limited choices we already had.

Those seats look awesome in the C5, I tried for over a year to find some decently priced C7 seats before going with the Braums. The install is easier than the Braums were and the wiring isn't a big deal, either use manual sliders or pull the harness plugs off the C5 seats and re-pin the C7 wiring harness. I believe the heating could be made to work, no cooling though.
If I ever run across some good priced C7 seats I'll still do the swap, missed some C7 seats on Craigslist a while back, guy wanted $1000, sold in less than a day

Here's what William told me about the swap, Wes.
"I interfaced my seat control module from the C5 to the motors on the C7 seat as I did not receive the C7 control units. They stayed with the other original car. The layout of the C5 and C7 are almost identical as it pertains to motor function.. once I determined what went up and down and back and forth.. I simply spliced my control into the appropriate places In the seats stock harness.. It really wasn’t so difficult and I needed to figure it out anyways because as you know.. you need to move the seat forward to reach the back bolts.. a little time with a 12v battery and I quickly figured out how the seat worked and then matched that to the stock control unit."
