Dan used to do a much better job... but if that's his harness in the picture, I wouldn't pay a dime for it, looks like a DIY project.
I'll check where I got the harness, but also search the forum.. you *really* don't need it. All you have to do is plug three wires from the c5 into the c8 seat harness, you can just terminate the wires with pins (which is what most people do).
Plus, can anyone confirm that his harness actually enables telescoping steering?
Yep, his work. I should have just cut and wired it myself since its just a few wires. Your harness and interior looks great!!
Loom and appearance and protection are one piece, but I just don't trust those wire connections after seeing them. Me? I'd redo it all to be sure. But I'm picky.
And if anyone is doing wire work, they really ought to have the right basic tools and connectors.

exactly.
I'm a little nutty when it comes to wire management, but I've also learned my lesson the hard way -- disorganized wires, and wires taped together with electrical tape inevitably lead to something shorting out at some point, most likely when you go in to work on it for something unrelated.
Finally got my harness in so time for swapping. It took about 6 weeks, not much communication and texting him to cancel my order, but its here and I'm happy. Dan even said no excuses and it's his fault. Shipped it 2 day air at no cost to me, but I did pay $22 originally for shipping. Looking forward to getting them in now.
So this means you're officially keeping it now....right?
It's a bit higher than the C5 seats bottomed out. For reference, I am 6'2" with a 31" inseam, and I fit comfortably in a C5Z.
Interesting as Im 5'10" with a 33" inseam and also fit comfortably in C5Z w/ C7 seats. I dont feel the height is any different. Long torso, short limbs vs. Short torso, long limb debate i suppose.
Damn, is that what you put together or is that what he sent you? If that's what he sent you -- wow -- his quality has REALLY gone down. I get that it goes under the seat, but that looks like a prototype.
making the harness is really ridiculously easy, and you won't have to deal with dan's lack of communication. There are several write ups on the forum, you can build it from scratch or just use the SCM harness under your seat (if you have telescoping steering, this is the easiest to do -- to my knowledge, dan never was able to get telescoping steering to work-- it's super easy to implement, he just never got around to it, and told me in a text that he wasn't going to. ).
Here's a harness I put together for a C7 seat in my c5 -- same amount of wiring, just a different plug. The box houses the two relays needed for telescoping steering -- which is needed whether you're using c7 or c8 seats to get telescoping steering to work (gm for whatever reason routed telescoping steering and memory through the seat control module):

that's a nice set up. If you decode to make these for sale, I'd be more than happy to by a set.
I'm shopping for seats now. This set is good for the telescoping steering wheel, thats awesome. If you have a thread on this or making this, could you please send to me or post.

Beautiful job!
I'll dig it up.. I've no real interest in selling those, trust me, it's not worth it.
By FAR the easiest thing to do is to reuse your existing SCM. It won't be as neat, but it's super simple, and if you dig into it, you can cut away most of the wires. If I was doing this again, that's what I'd do.
I sourced all the connectors and parts to finally make my harness more permanent / OEM looking.
Given that I have a C5Z, I don't have a power seat plug on the passenger side. I was originally going to power it from the driver side, and run a patch wire to the driver harness over the top of the tunnel. Now that I'm ready to actually do it, though, I'm wondering if there's something better / easier to tap into in the passenger side / passenger footwell where the fuse box is.

Personally i think its fine and thats pretty much exactly what i did. I honestly dont think it gets any easier than just making the jump harness to the passenger side.

Its easier and about 2 min to just run power behind the tunnel trim from the drivers side seat.
I bought all the mouser connectors and pins to make it look OEM but it turned out to be a PITA and much easier to jump wires to the correct pin on the seat connector.
I made a harnes from 18ga wire wire

Me, either. I sold my stock seats the day after we installed the C7's.
I threw mine away.
The only issue I had with the C7 seats is the seatbelt kept coming out of the seatbelt guide on the seat. I solved that with a piece of heat shrink tubbing

They make a piece that snaps on to keep it from slipping out. Of course your way is much cheaper.
