I had 3 good days to do the body work, prep and paint. 3 coats of base and 3 coats clear. All in I’m out $190 for paint job and $150 in body work. My hours aren’t included, about 25hrs for body and paint work.
ended up consuming 3 quarts of paint and a gallon of clear. I did two coats of primer blocked it with 400 then 600.
Im happy with the results given my time frame and weather, it’s a really nice daily driver. I did many to forget to do the front license plate cover. I’ll be doing it in a day or so.
Edit: not included in this prices are odds and ends that I already such as mixing cups, paper roll, tac cloths, etc. and I already had the equipment to this also.

Technical question: Why did you remove and paint the bumper covers separately when you didn't remove anything else?
I normally do that to keep the paint from cracking in the likely event the bumpers need to come off (look at pics below). Since all other panels have bigger gaps it’s a non issue. I didn’t bother with the mirrors or door handles as they’ll likely never be removed.
In this case the front bumper had lots of pitting and 2 cracks. So taking it off was the only way to repair it.
That being said, if I were repainting for the best possible outcome, I’d remove pretty much everything.

Well I’m 5 days in, from start to finish. She’s not perfect but it’s exactly what I wanted. She’s a 5 foot daily driver that I’ll enjoy for as long as I can. It’ll be getting the clutch and complete hydraulic system, along with the torque tube rebuild next week. The week after I’ll have the driver seat repaired.
Awesome work! Nice to see the side moulding get the axe too
I looked at photos with and without the moldings and thought for sure they’ll go back on but once it was done and I saw how clean it looked without them I just put them on a shelf in the garage.
