Trunk Struts - 2 required?

If the strut is good, one should be enough to hold the trunk lid up without it falling closed. If the trunk lid fails to stay up, the strut is bad. If the problem is the trunk lid not popping up high enough when the button is hit, you need the spring that goes around the latch. That will hold the trunk lid up a few inches so you can get your fingers under it.

Got struts? No? Need struts? Yes? .... Use a stick... Cost and professional knowledge.. Zilch.... and a passerbys discussion starter about GM's wonderful world of customer support and..... their parts supply house.... One may make an adventurous challenge finding the "perfect" stick to shove up in there. And.. If cost of them thare struts is hard to justify, one has beat the system!.... Solved with a stick! 👍
