I have replaced the headlight actuators both sides 2 times each. The lights work no problem. Now the drivers side light pops up after I turn off the headlights. Good thing is the light remains off but does not stay all the way down. Anybody else experience this problem? Thanks
Mine started coming up when just turning on the driving lights. I was told it was a bad Multifunction switch. That is out of production. you may be able to find one used. I was from a 10K 2004 Z06. I have not installed it to see if that was truly the problem yet. I'm about to install the SKnight drive TV sleepy eye headlights so not real sure I care if they come up as I will be driving with the Hailos lit.
No problem... I'd sell that car, get a newer C6... C5 headlights are NG!... The Only really bad thing with fifth generation Corvette are those damned things... I'm to old to be screwing around with a GM that dropped me in the stuff and caused me real pain and suffering!... Headlights 👎
I e done mine several times. Once I got done and my lights worked properly, then a few days later when off one would go down then pop up again. I closed it manually or when on not come up all the way.if you misplace or place Isidre washer wrong it will come out of sink going around a complet turn, my thinking. I took it apart again and adjusted it again, this was about two months ago working good, still missing a washer spacer inside, I did the brass gears this time. Sorta a pro taking it apart and replacing it now. I hope this helps.
Missing a bump stop, maybe? That usually only makes the headlight rise up slightly though.
Another issue could be that the installation of the arm on the motor is reversed. I think with the headlight closed, the arm bend should face towards the front of the car.
If it's wrong, loosen the nut and rotate the arm 180* on the motor and reinstall.
