Doing the air filter flip was noticeable, especially after sitting at one of our infamous 5 minute red lights. I believe keeping the fuel cooler would give the same benefit I feel in my Jeep. I do miss the days of filling the "cool can" with dry ice before a pass..

That is fascinating!

In conclusion, right on the mark...boils to thermal dynamics versus, what have you.

It is time consuming but for me the reward in the end is worth

I feel for you brother and my condolences on your loss of the day!

I've had the drivetrain out of my car twice for clutch swaps, the diffs out 3 times and everything on the front end under the hood for cam and heads swap. All times I mostly enjoyed. I still do all my own parts swaps and repairs but I outsourced my last engine build and the supercharger install. And it was glorious to get the car back both times in perfect working order without busting my knuckles or F'ng anything up.

Hats off to both you and Che Vette for constantly getting after it! You'll be reminded it was mostly worth it when you smash that long pedal.

The sad thing is that when I bought the Z06 and was coming from a supercharged coupe, a lot of my interest was because it already had heads and cam done and I would be saving all that labor time.

I feel your pain, there is nothing like getting into a project, be it hard or not, then getting setbacks. However, sometimes it turns out better in the end.

It did not help my wallet. We went from a street machine h/c/blower which I was just going to swap my coilovers and bezel/gauges to and be done... to a full custom build. I don't even know how to categorize it. Frankenstein? Resto-mod? If nothing else, I can say that every part of the car has been modified to my preference and it will continue to get the tuning and adjument changes as I go. It is all fun though! I do enjoy tinkering and custom work. But it is high time I kick my own butt and get it back on the street.

With any next cars I will go back to the basic formula of blower + drive it. But the Z06 I will be keeping until I pass it on to a worthy inheritor. It will forever be an example of cars before nanny tech took over fully and where the driver was still in control, and this one with a bit of that raw feel. Or so I hope.

If it doesn't stay in the family, I think it will go to someone female and of the blonde or red headed persuasion.

I watched this video and another about the subject of cooling the fuel itself and they both mirror what I observe it seems. Looking back I have to say the Jeep felt snappier with cool fuel HOWEVER the engine and components were not heat soaked yet, eventually after sitting in rush hour the snappiness diminished to the point of not noticeable anymore. The fuel cooling seems to be much more effective in a carb application vs a fuel injection application which confirms my memory of significant performance increases getting the fuel as cool as possible. Cool stuff, no pun intended.
