Yes. I cut off the kit's fuse ends and tucked it all under the headliner. I had already prewired for my previous rearview camera(s) so I didn't need to run anything beyond there.
I really envy you younger guys and your computer skills. I was good with stereo stuff in my own day, and still very good mechanically. But at 69 years old, my memory is starting to fail, so it's hard to learn and RETAIN things. But what an awesome setup, JDM!! Nice work!!!
I was able to snap a pic that represents how the offset camera presents the image
If you can tell, the left highway lane marker is a bit to the right of the left edge on the screen and the right marker is a bit up the side of the right side of the screen.
If course I am driving in the middle of the lane & the image is somewhat offset but I have quickly adjusted to it....it's a great setup
Thanks jdmvette. I have received it and working in my car on a temporary basis until I figure out how to hide the wires in a convertible. Then I will be all set. As you said the picture quality is amazing.
We got the Autobox V5pro off Amazon. It's a complete mirror replacement and it's really slick. Couldn't have asked for more. It looks OEM and it has a front and rear camera. Install wad straight forward only knock wad that the helper piggyback fuses it came with are the wrong style but I had the correct ones in my toolkit anyways. Front and rear camera recording.

To clarify, did it attach directly to the C5's stock windshield mirror mount?

Correct. You remove your stock mirror from the OEM mount and then the replacement mirror goes directly on the stock cleat on the windshield. It's definitely an upgrade and I did get a "wow" from a passenger when I backed up and the mirror turned itself into a display. Just make sure you get it from the autovox store on Amazon. The first one we got was from a 3rd party and it was an older unit. We returned it and got the newest directly from autovox / Amazon.
The mirror is a slightly different shape than the OEM one but that's inconsequential. Also you lose the puddle lights that would be on the OEM mirror - installing a replacement for the puddle lights is something I've shoved off til later as it hasn't really had an effect on the car.

Ahhh but from Autovox (seller) it's $320, whereas a different seller (Toshare) has it for $300-$60 coupon = $240 ! That different seller still has it via Amazon Prime just like Autovox...

Send autovox a message they will match the price. The autovox unit from autovox has a newer and substantially beefier rear camera.

Do you have any pictures of this setup in your car?
Here's a link to my setup from many years ago: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...up-camera.html

I've since integrated my backup camera into my head unit so I don't have a need for the mirror, if anyone wants to buy it...
Thanks for the pics. That looks great. I think my EZ-pass would block the front camera. I'm not too worried about that though. This seems like a much cleaner solution that looks stock. I notice that you have a vert like me. How did you wire this up? Do you have a pic of the rear camera mount? Did the kit come with everything you needed for install?
On my old cameras, they'd simply be blasted out in white on the screen.
This camera setup is WAY better than the earlier generations.
I have been meaning to update this post with a comparison of the previous camera's night view with vehicle's headlights right behind it.
You can see how the older camera gets blasted out by the headlights of the vehicle whereas the newer one filters the light down to small circles of light

Use it every day. No issues. Only change made was adding a little double sided tape to the top of the rear camera to hold it at the correct angle. For whatever reason closing the trunk would refocus the camera a bit and that solved that. All good. It's a great upgrade.
