So I know c5s were owned by a lot of older generation people. And are now being bought up by people in my generation (millennials) and younger. What’s the gap looking like now. More younger or older.
It's an even split on ownership IMO. Though the boomers with the retirement money, no mortgages, and value in their homes keep rolling on to the next newer generations and are all on C8s and now competing for C8 Z06 and ZR1 slots.
Please don't paint all of us boomers with the same brush. I'll be 72 soon and am perfectly happy with my C5.
Best way to put it is. What’s the percentage of people that wash it on Friday and garage it for the car show on Sunday. Compared to the people that just bought a 13k car and beat the ***** off if it ?

You are, and remain, a glorious exception and a standout.
Though as a rule I don't see so many older owners in C5s anymore vs 7s and 8s. Those are also more refined cars with smoother power, better seats and amenities, and easier to get in and out of.
I was 20 when I bought my 98. I'm 41 now and I still have it. No plan to sell it. It's not running right now and it's in rough shape, but the plan us to get it running and fix up the interior and exterior.
I'm 62, inherited mine from parents. Freshly retired with NO plans to purchase a newer one. If anything I would go for an early C3. I am guilty of washing it Friday for a cruise Sunday, however that cruise can include a day at the track, or a road trip up north, either one will result in many pedal to the mat runs. To me the car is a driver, not a show piece.
I bought my first Corvette, a Red/White 64 coupe, in 1970 at age 17. Over the last 55yrs, I've owned 36 total, with the earliest being a 1955 and the newest was my 2002 C5Z.
Lots of C1's, C2's, C3's, C4's and two C5's have made life more enjoyable, for sure. The longest I've ever owned one was 5yrs and that was my highly modified 90 ZR-1.
I’m 69, drive my ‘98 convertible routinely, wash, wax and do everything else that may or not be needed to keep this car in great shape. Really no desire to buy a newer generation Corvette that is loaded with “technology” that I cannot repair at home myself. Plus living in the Keys,I really have a low probability of finding competent mechanic to service a newer generation Corvette.
68.
Owned my 2001 C5 for ~12 years? Bought it from someone late 30s at 99K miles.
He owned it from ~20K miles, and it was his only car that whole time. I have/had a bunch of other cars to drive, including a built 2006 Z06... so the C5 didn't get much use.
I started to daily it again... in rotation, of course!
Handles well, fast enough to be entertaining, and gets good mileage. No plans to sell it, ever.
Just sold the Z to a 27 year old young man. It was so stupidly fast as to be unusable on the street. Hope he doesn't crash it!

I was 24 when I bought my 2004 coupe. I’m 46 today. I just got back from a long morning cruise. Mine has always been garaged, it’s mint for its age, normal wear and tear for a vehicle with 90k miles on it. Full bolt on coupe, A4 trans, 3.73 gears and 3200 stall. No plan to sell it, but hopefully a C8 is in my plans 2-3 years down the road, park it next to the C5.
Pushing 75 😬 don’t drive it a lot but still love the sound and going through the gears. Owned 64-65-66-88 and this 2000 loved them all except the 88 POS

i have had c4, c5 vert, c6, c7 and happily and gladly went back to the C5 Z
best body style, less electronic stuff to go wrong. simple car. parts are plentiful and cheap. .75 and still gearin and steerin hard.
and do all my own work, or most of it that does not require a lift.
