rx7 vs vette
400 hp 93 rx 7 vs nearly stock 98 vert 6spd?
vette has k an n
keep in mind the rx7 has to rev to 8000 to get that power
who would win?

It depends on a lot of other things - mainly the driver. I'd probably bet on the RX7 simply based on HP to weight ratio.
But who cares? He's still driving an RX7 and I'd still be in my Vette.

In a 1/4 mile run the Mazda would probably blow your doors off.

If Mazda still made the RX-7 (not that crappy RX-8), I'd be driving one of those instead of the Vette.
Example of the stock '93 RX-7 0-60 time = 3.8 seconds.

More like low 5's for 0-60, with a *modded* car dipping into the 4's.

Dreaming....No RX7 ever came close to under a 4 sec. 0-60 mid 5's is more like it. Even today to come in under 4 secs. 0-60 places you in a $300,000.00 (or more) car and even then there are only a couple.

A guy at work had a RX7 modded by Peter Farrell super cars here in VA. I think it was putting out around 380hp. The acceleration was brutal, absolutely breathtaking. I don't think you will be able to beat him without a HUGE investment.

Just tell him you want to run for best out of ten runs. If he is hooking up with 400 HP I would bet his drivetrain won't last ten hard runs!

The turbo Rx-7s were great cars. They can't beat the Z06s but a good driver can easily beat a non-z06 C5.

They were great cars but I doubt that a stock RX7 Turbo could take any stock C5 Corvette.

Those are cool cars. Funny how the best mod you can do to them is an LS1!
