Well, the vert I drove had buffeting! And when I put the top up it was all dark in the cabin -- not at all light and airy as in a coupe with the tinted top. Plus vision to the rear is very restricted with the top up. Ah well, to each their own. I guess that's why GM made three body styles!
I have to agree w/ c5pilot. My vert has alot less buffeting with the top down than my 2000 coupe did with its top off. Yes the interior does feel darker/more cramped than my coupe did. Each to his own and I may be back in a coupe someday.
At the risk of being badly flamed, which is better than being hanged, I love my COUPE. It has all the benefits of the Vert, in terms of top down driving, and fantastic utility with the hatch back. Comes in real handy with those trips to Lowes, etc. Bags of mulch, lime, great utility. Of course I put a water proof blanket down first. Also, for us being able to take our dog, a Sheltie, was a big factor. Even with the lexan top in the rear, the storage under it is great and the dog still has plenty of room. I realize that most Vette owners wouldn't let a dog in their car, but to me this is a daily driver and not a museum piece. Lastly, I like the access to the back on long trips for such things as cooler, camera, jackets, etc. Takes about 30 seconds to remove or replace. Let the flames begin...
My sentiments exactly. The COUPE gives you the feel of the vert when the weather is right, but the rest of the year (about 300 days) you get the open feel with the transparent top, without the closed in feeling, noise and limited visibility of the vert. Flame on!
I don't know where you guys live, but I live in Baltimore and verts don't survive long with the top down and get cut with the top up,but if you can get a 24x7 guard buy one.

That's not even funny. I don't understand these scumbags who think they should knife someone else's ragtop. In some countries, they would cut your hand off for that. Too bad Americans are so compassionate.
I bought a coupe because even though the Vert looks great topless, I don't like the look with the top up. Coupe looks great with roof on but I can still take it off for a semi-Vert experience.
I vote Coupe for a daily driver/Vet for Weekend car, but the Vert just doesn't feel right to me!
I own a Coupe and just love it. I personally hate that large trunk area behind me in the Corvette Vert. I'm in the belief that when a Vert has small seats in the back with a small trunk it opens the car up a lot. Like M3's 911's Lexus 430's. All these Verts feel much more open than the Corvette ever can hope for IMHO!
These cars are much more enjoyable with their roof removed. That's why I buy a Vert, for enjoyment, not looks. Unless you're looking behind, the Vert and coupe feel very much the same with their roof off except that the coupe feels airy.
That's what's great about this Forum, it's only an OPINION. Enjoy!

I agree with most of your post except this. As an owner of both I'm here to tell you top down on a vert is a compltely different experience than top off on a coupe. To me top off on coupe is closer to having a sun roof. If you haven't already, drive both and see. If you have and still feel this way then it sure effects you differently than me. Here in California I'll take the vert. If I lived in a cold regeon I might take the coupe.
