We have hi-cal water here in central indiana - vinegar works great. Make sure it's the white kind..

The only thing I've found that works is Griots window polish, the more agressive one.

I had some bad ones that I couldn't get off with the vinegar and water trick or any other thing mentioned in the car care products section of the forum.

Then I was up at Carlisle and ended up buying the IBIZ wax package with the liquid cleaner/wax, which the demonstrator told me would take the spots off. At first it did nothing. Then I got one of those scrub sponges with the BLUE scrub pad on it that guaranteed it was safe for glass. I sprayed the cleaner/wax on the scrubber, then scrubbed the window, and voila!, the spots were gone. Don't know if other detailing sprays will do the same thing, but it might be worth a try.

Well, the vinegar and water did not seem to work. These spots are ON there. The car is going to the detailer next week. I'll see what he can do. If he has no luck, I will try the above products. Thanks for all the help guys. Im sure one of these will work for me. Thanks again guys

Are you sure you aren't referring to these kind of spots, which are perfectly normal (and won't wash off)?

This is how I do it. Works very well and doesn't scratch the glass.

I've heard that the stuff you can get from www.diamondite.com works wonders on old, hard-to-remove water spots.
Good stuff! I get mine from the local windshield repair guys.

Thanks for all the help guys

Im going to talk to the detailer when it goes in for some paint restoration and see what he can do for these spots. If he cant take care of it (pretty sure he can), then I will most definitely try these products. Sounds like the Zaino and Stoners are the way to go. I will most likely pick some up for future use anyhow. Thanks again! Darroch Malone

Most grocery stores carry a product called Bartenders friend.. you can find it in the cleanser isle, its what they' use on glasses that get stained with all sorts of things.. I believe it is Bon ami... which can also be found in the cleaners and cleanser isle.. Its also great for getting burned on water stains off your porcelin stove, without scratching.

Vinegar doesn't work I tried it today along with newspaper and also glass cleaner. It seems that it is mostly muscle and lots of rubbing that is going to get the spots off.

I am also experiencing the same problem nothing has worked to get the spots off. Still have spots but I notice after rubbing it more and harder is coming off but so slow and very labor intensive.
