Got my first one at age 47 (75 t-top), second one at age 55 (93Ruby) which I still have and bought my 03 MY vert at age 60. Since the two current Vettes are our only cars, they get driven daily and I drive them like they're supposed to be driven.
Cool Stuff!! I always thought that only the rich drove Corvettes but since buying one I have found Corvette owners are a very diverse group. And I do mean diverse.
I got my first vette this year at the age of 32 after playing around with f bodies for 12 years. I live in a college town though, and most people dont know how old i am and i usually dont tell them. I get I'd regularly for adult beverages at local watering holes and gas stations.
I bought my first really used '72 in 1986(22 yrs old) red w/ T-tops and loud side pipes . My second was a slightly used '86 in 1989(25 yrs old) . My third is a '99 bought in 2001(38 yrs old) . Wife and kids took priority . To have a vette like this in my teens would be dangerous. But from the looks of it I have time to buy a few more.
Do you old guys have a tough time getting in and out? At 40 I feel old crawling out of it, grabbing what ever I can to extract myself from the sport seats. But it's worth it.
