I get that from all you people, even at the shows when I am with my car. I am getting used to it now because i thought about it and decided that i buy my cars, and i would rather have the Vette and people think i shouldnt have it, then not have it at all.

blackbelt, "You know I have 2 and pay for both off them. I hate when people say stupid things like that. Just cause you couldn't afford one when you were my age doesn't mean i can't."
YOU couldn't afford to buy a corvette at age 18; there's almost no way unless you're quite the entrepeneur. Your DAD might have gotten one for you, but that's your dad, NOT you, mr. "black belt" (lol)

That's not necessarily true. Sure when I was 17, I was driving around in a 1972 Toyota that I paid for delivering pizzas. But when I was 19-20 I was in college running a home theater business out of my one bed room slum of a apartment. With running a business online I was able to bring a good amount of cash in. While I didn't have a new C5 I did make enough for a 97 impala SS, a crown Vic (which I ended up selling ASAP) and my pride and joy Mercedes Benz UNIMOG, all with cash. I am not saying this to gloat just proving that with internet business in the past few years it is possible for anyone (regardless of age) to make good money as long as they were smart, determined and lucky.
besides maybe black belt is a very successful pimp!

your just jealous because you didnt have one at 17, lol you will really hate me, i got a 12 sec Ford Lightning, a 10 sec 04 Z06, and a 10 sec 93 Firebird Trans Am. Do all the work myself, and proud of it, and pay for it myself and proud of it, and guess what i just turned 20
Nope, not jealous at all, I owned a built and customized 75mph jet boat, new Ford Explorer, CBR600, CR250, and a full size Chevy truck by the time I was your age.
Oh yes, did I mention I also had my first house purchased?? If you haven't done that yet, sell a couple of rides and invest in a house, it will pay off for you in the long run.

If you had half a brain cell you would notice his title "blackbelt" that might indicate something of why he has as much money as he does. Maybe he is a very successful Tae Kwon Do instructor, could that be it, he makes 100 dollars per private lesson, and he does like a bunch a day, plus he does group classes. plus Blackbelt still lives at home doesnt pay rent, yet, so that helps too. If he would stop modding his vert, he could buy a friggin house!!!

LOL! Yeah, that IS funny... TKD, the joke of all martial arts, a "do jang" on every corner. Oh wait, that's not something someone would be on here bragging about. maybe he's a black belt in Capoeira? or maybe kenpo, yeah that's a cool one, segal does that **** and it ROCKS! What does van damme train in, maybe he has a black belt in van dam do!
Lol... what a tool. Who would come on a vette forum with a name like "black belt" and expect everyone to bow down to them. Get a clue: the only people that get black belts in TKD are kids and those who know absolutely nothing about martial arts.

There's something to be said for living at home and having the whole paycheck to spend on oneself. Enjoy it while it lasts.
I'd venture to say however, that most guys go the route of house and family first...life's little responsiblities, so to speak. Then when we truly are able to afford the car, we appreciate them that much more.
After having a Corvette in your teens, what else is there to look forward to later in life? $250,000+ exotics?
Interesting poll. I got my first Corvette 35 years ago (longer than the majority age of current owners) at age 19 from my uncle. I'm now on #s 13 and 14. As long as the passion is there, I'll always have one. You see, it's not how old you are or how many you own or have owned, its all about having the passion. I was 8 years old when my uncle bought his new 1958 Corvette and I've been hooked ever since. I would rather spend time chatting with a young guy or girl who may not even own one, but knows them inside and out, than with someone who has no clue about a Corvette and made the purchase just to be seen in it.

I would rather spend time chatting with someone who is up there in years and knows them inside and out, than with someone who has no clue about a Corvette and made the purchase just to be seen in it.
