Nitrogen
Is anyone running nitrogen in their EMT’s?
I was told that there is less leakage when nitrogen is used.
Regards.

It is a topic that has been discussed before, but my impression was that not many people were doing it - I know I'm not...

Too much trouble for me.
Though you get less temperature variation with N.

Um you have Nitrogen in your tires. Air is 97% Nitrogen.
If you mean 100% Nitrogen, not really nesscarly for street tires. SOme race cars Nitrogen so there is less air pressure change when the tires hear up.

No, haven't heard of any place around here that you can get 100% nitrogen and it would be too much hassle anyway.

Well, 81% anyway. Military and airlines use it. Can't imagine where you can get it except at offshore hardhat diving companies, maybe some welding places, but i would try it for north central texas if available just to see what happens. 40 degrees in the morning and then 75 by noon. seems it would be good for highway driving.

it's only worth it if you are racing professionally or for tires on aircraft. Under extreme conditions it's good.
The only benefit for a street car is that if you keep your wallet in you back pocket it'll will be thinner, and probably more comfortable.

I discussed this with a person very high up in the Goodyear organization. It does, as others have stated, reduce the change in air pressure. He also said that because the molecules are larger there is less leakage and less corrosion of the steel belts. In other words it is beneficial but may not be worth the trouble.

Appreciate it.
I will continue to use good old fashioned air
and my so far so good accurate tire gage.
Thanks
